but Gambo and Ash said it's a given and you've gone on record NUMEROUS times saying they're ALWAYS WRONG and should apologize to you about the KG deal you said was going to happen (but didn't).

1. I never said they are always wrong.
2. I was saying if KG for Marion happened after those rumors popped up 2 days ago that I couldn't wait to write Ash an email about it after he wrote me that it is impossible.

Plus why am I even arguing with you all evidence points to Hill signing with Phoenix.

1. Its an open secret the Suns want him.
2. Its an open secret Hill wants the Suns.
3. The Suns saved money today to have more to work with in FA
4. Grant Hill immediately after the regular season said it would be Phoenix, Orlando, Detroit or Retirement.
5. Later said on PTI between Phoenix and San Antonio he'd definately pick Phoenix.
6. Would likely be a starter here.
7. Was in Phoenix a couple days ago possibly looking for a house.

Phoenix had a deal with Charlotte either for the No. 8 or for salary dump. You pick which one. I say both, depending on who dropped. Charlotte backed out when they found what they thought was a better deal with GS.

Mostly speculation on my part, but I don't think the Charlotte deal would've fallen through if Minny hadn't been shopping Amare Stoudemire to get the Garnett deal done. In fact, I think Minny shopping Garnett probably hindered Phoenix's deal-making ability with a lot of teams. Nobody wanted to do anything to empower that deal without getting something more than a pick and KT for it.

Where does he start, though?

I guess you could run out:

Nash
Bell
Hill
Marion
Amare

Not bad I guess.

so slin, knowing what we know about DA LEGENDARY stubborness to sticking to his system, you're basically telling me DA is gonna change his system for Tucker. Because that's the only way he sees the court taking over JRs role. Are you really making this argument?

You are absolutely nuts..

James Jones was shooting 26% halfway through the season, D'Antoni still kept playing him.

Tucker will get James Jones role, but we will most likely sign Hill anyway so Hill will get that spot who besides all that is no shooter either.

And again if D'Antoni didn't think he would fit in, there is no way they would have drafted him at all. They could have just sold #29 for Portland as well for 3M$ and #42 and Portland would take Koponen at #29 instead of #30.

NO, we'll sign Grant Hill to play backup power forward, after we trade away Amare and KT for Garnett. Then we can play a starting lineup of KG, Shawn, Raja, Barbosa, and Nash. Yes, small ball gets smaller.

Our backups will be Diaw, Rook, Rook, Hill (with a heap of luck), and oh, no guards. I guess its a good thing we kept Banks.

Consider the window closed.

and now, the basketball conversation ends because you have resorted to your normal modus operendi - becoming insulting or you distort someone else's opinion to fit your own. Good job as usual Slin!

So, Jason Richardson is gone to Bobcats. We have one option fewer where to ship Marion.

Grant Hill is OOOOOOOLLLLLDDDDD!!!!!

We're getting a little over excited about his probable arrival. I think JR was ok in the 2nd part of the season. I never expected much more than alot of hustle and the very occasional 3.

If the Suns move Jones and get back Jack, I'll be thrilled. They finally get a back up PG, and Tucker can actually get into games, taking James' role as a defensive SF type (even though he's not a great shooter). If they got back Frye, I'd be pretty happy as that would give them more front court depth, but its even less likely to happen for Jack. If they got back Webster, I'd be disappointed, as he isn't as a good of a defender as Jones, though his 3 point% is good.

If the Suns moved 24 AND James Jones for cash, I'm going to flip. Even less depth? What are these dopes thinking?

I pray the Suns line up next year is:

Amare/KT
Marion/Diaw
Hill/Tucker/Pike
Barbosa/Bell/Strawberry
Nash/Jack

what's this based on?

David Aldridge
"A league source indicated that the Blazers also were trying to acquire Phoenix guard James Jones along with the Suns’ 24th pick in the first round for a second-round pick and cash."

Portlands other 2nd round pick were Josh McRoberts and Demetris Nichols.

Since they already have Jack, Koponen and Rodriguez I'd have to guess Taurean Green would be the 2nd rounder going to Phoenix.. because that is the guy we would want the most out of the 3 as well.

Well the Blazers had 4 2nd round picks so if the rumor is true that it was for a 2nd rounder it would be either Josh McRoberts, Derrick Byars, Taurean Green or Demetris Nichols.

Take your pick

Wasn't Byars the only guy we worked out?

You are going to flip about losing James Jones? He makes 3M$ a year and he is TERRIBLE.

There is no doubt we will have a better player than Jones for less next season.

Losing James Jones for nothing is a GOOD thing.

James Jones is a very good defender, an OK three point shooter and hustler. You want the Suns to have even less depth than in the previous years?
