For your amusement.... or agony.

4. Arizona dumps Matt Leinart: Just so we understand each other, this is by no means an argument that Leinart could have saved the Cardinals' lousy season. It is, however, a criticism of how Arizona crippled its hopes of a third straight winning campaign by botching its quarterback situation from the start. Leinart had been with that franchise since 2006, which is long enough for coach Ken Whisenhunt and general manager Rod Graves to know whether he's worth keeping. Instead, they let the entire offseason go by without making a serious move for another potential successor to Kurt Warner. In the end, they dropped Leinart, gave the job to Derek Anderson and then watched their season go south in a hurry as both Max Hall and now John Skelton also stepped in under center.

AND we are already asleep at the wheel, as Houston is already making plans to keep their HC and hire the former Dallas HC as their defensive coordinator. I suppose that we will once again wait until all the GM and the co-ordinator talent has been spoken for before we decide that we need one.

Let's be fair. The season hasn't even ended yet.

Can't contact any employed coaches right now, and we don't want wade the underachiever here.

Get Mike Zimmer if the Cincy staff gets the axe. He's had success with multiple franchises, is still fairly young and has run both 3-4 and 4-3 defenses.

OK, lets be fair-----lets wait until the next season starts and see how well Graves and company execute thier next plan. I'm betting it is just about to enter the pre-planning stage.

We don't need any coaching changes. We just need to believe in the system and keep working on what we know works.

That would be fair but it is not what you said. You indicated the Cards FO is asleep now. Predicting they won't do anything is something different.

hmmm...that's odd. Weis has already decided to leave KC as OC to go back to the college ranks at Florida...

I'm pretty sure nobody contacted him during the process...I'm shocked just plain shocked.....

it's like Jake said in another thread...good teams and institutions have a funny way of getting the staff or players they want

You do realize Weiss is going to a college right? It is not like another NFL team interview him.

Of course I do. I stated he was going to the Gators. I am posting from my phone so it wasn't feasible for me to look up the rules regarding colleges contacting NFL coaches. I was merely making the point that proactive teams have a way of doing things so they get what they want
