Shovel passes set/matched two records today!

Exactly. Literally ANY healthy QB in the NFL could have made those passes.john h said:All McCown did is lob the ball up in the air. The receivers made the plays. No accuracy involved.
WisconsinCard said:Well all he did was give us a chance to win. I guess we should see if king wants to start the last game.
Red Dawn said:Face it, hes the best we have so we play him. Whats the use of bashing him if he's the best we have. Its a long off-season, plenty of time for that.
If Starks makes the tackle instead of trying a strip on Dilfer Josh gets another chance.

Actually, I don't dislike him. I WANT to find a reason to like him as a starter for the AZ Cardinals, but I can't. Not when we're heading into an offseason where we can make some improvements at the position.WisconsinCard said:Yea well before everyone was critizing him for not going deep now he does and any QB can do that. Face some like him some don't. Those who like him will find reason to like him. Those who don't will find reason to not.

No, not immediately (although I thought grooming a rookie, either Ebn or Eli, this year would have been). But, I do think Kitna, beldsoe or Johnson are upgrades.Shane H said:Do you think grooming another rookie is an upgrade?

I think this is the entire teams #1 problem. Whether it be the backs, line, or both.dogpoo32 said:Yeah! Its Josh's fault there is no run game too!
I think Bledsoe will be available as will Johnson. Kitna most certainly could lead this team--do you think he couldn't?Shane H said:Bledsoe isnt available. DO you really think that Kitna could lead this team? Johnson is awfully old.

He's not going to get any free rides. I don't see why people are so afraid we will just go with him we won't.
He's not going to be the only option he might not even be a option for us. It seems that cooler, more experienced heads will not flush more than one season down the drain on the guy.
I think we will sign a reasonably high profile FA QB and make them the starter and Josh may stay as the backup but if not then DG will feel whoever is behind Josh is capable of starting and I expect will play if he falters.
Fair enough--now imagine if he had a year like McCowns how much you'd like him.Shane H said:Even with Kitnas performance last year I am no fan of his!
conraddobler said:IMO Kitna would not be an upgrade over Josh.
A decent O line and a killer RB and Bledsoe most certainly would be. I hope he's available but heck that team is on fire.

cant run, cant stop the run. Given the two teams rushing stats, this game shouldnt have been close.
ANY Qb short of Farve or Manning would have had similiar stats to McCown today given the pathetic run game.
