Why is this good news? Our drafts have been pretty solid. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Our history speaks for itself. We have had quick success. But to say or FO has all of a sudden figured it out is blind IMO.

Holmgren?

He said he was moving here after the season (or something to that effect)

My only is issue is disruption of the two people I find to be the most important to this organizations ultimate success.

Wiz and Kiem.

If this is truly just an advisor then that would likely not be too big of an issue but I don't want a guy to come in who clashes with either of those two. That is key.

I actually want Kiem to be the GM at one point.

Still I am excited. Can't ever have enough experienced smart advisement for Rod with big contracts and the draft coming up.

Holmgren said he promised his wife to take a year off before he got back into football in any capacity.

My vote goes for Phil Savage.

Theres the AFC North connection, having worked for the Ravens and Browns.

Thatd be a pretty cool move

How nice would it be to be able to multitask and sign more than one guy at a time.

Of the 61 members of the Cards roster entering Whis's first season, only 21 are on the roster at this point and with the likely departure of Edge - 20.

The Cards management team, led by Rod Graves, has not been sitting on their collective butts over past two seasons and a touch.

i was hoping more of the draft control would go to whizz; this move would seem to counteract that.

Somewhere the "switch" went on. In the Past I would get Cardinal "news", which was usually few & far between, and then groan out-loud. Usually followed by an exasperated WHY??????? These days I see either moves that make sense or at least allow me to give them the benefit of the doubt. Last year was NOT a fluke. It was the direct result of ALOT of GOOD football decisions being made. My friends, these are GREAT days to be a Cardinals' fan. :)

Last yr. at this time we we're hoping for wild card berths and a trip to the playoffs could be a possibility.

We've come a long way baby!

He's not picking the players. He would help with assessments/evaluations and help them set their draft board. He'll also help with coordinating contract efforts.

I'm sure come draft day, Whis' voice will be the main one heard. And he's smart enough to be open to advice at the right time.

I hope, hope, hope, hope it's Charlie Casserly.

Same here. One of the few smart enough to know Mario Williams was better than Reggie Bush or Vince Young.

........and they ran him out of town over it.

Me too, but I think he will get offered that position elsewhere before that happens. In my opinion, Wiz, Kiem and Denny Green are the biggest reasons we have turned around our ability to add quality players.
