Did anyone hear it? I had to go to work so I missed it. I am guessing it was about his trip to Detroit or possibly Oakland.

If anyone heard it, could you fill me in?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know. It couldn't have been very much.

Jurecki is going off on DG right now. He's ripping him for the Oline situtation.

Says that in two years only 4 of his 14 draft picks are starters.

Step and E. Brown are nothing more than backups....cutting Shelton and Kendall was foolish.

Now that some time has passed......MJ is right. (man, never thought I'd say that.)

Compared to previous coaches where after two years only 4 of their first 14 draft picks were still in the NFL. :D

Mac's first 2 years: BIG, A. Wilson, KVB (pro bowl elsewhere) McCown

Tobin: Rice, Dexter (starter for awhile here) Plummer and Mark Smith

Ryan: (worst talent scout ever) J. Miller and F. Sanders

Bugel: Proehl, Centers, J. Johnson, Swann, A. Williams

Reader digest version…….from my memory:D

He meet with Detroit (Martz) and everything went well. But they signed Kitna, wanted seasoned vet to start. On way to NO and they signed Brees why he was in air. Landed in NO they still wanted to meet but he declined. Got a call from the Raiders so is heading out there will meet with Davis today. Martz called back and said they still want him and would open up comp for starting QB (made offer). But the big news was when Josh was at Kurt’s charity basketball game DG approached him and said they have a place for him here. Told him if he can’t find what he wants on the open market and doesn’t want to sign a long term contract they want him back here. It would be a one year contract so he wouldn’t be tied down past this year. Also something about Buffalo being interested.

What everyone including that clown Jurecki always convienently seems to forget is that our o-line was just as pathetic with Kendall and Shelton here.

Thx DK. That's good info.

I suspect Detriot might be a good situation if Joey H. wasn't there. But as long as Millen is calling the shots, Joey will be the man. Josh could do worse than another year in Arizona. He'd likely get some playing time.

It was worse.

I wonder why the Browns let LJ get away...

I think that is a bit unfair:

Clear starters: Fitz (probowl), Dansby, Dockett, Rolle

Near starters/good depth: E. Green, Stepanovich, Leckey, Brown, McCoy, A. Smith

Jury is still out: Blackstock, Mitchell, Arrington, Navarre

It gives no credit to the "near starter" group -- and I think that when it all shakes out, at least one of those offensive linemen will turn out to be a consistent starter.

Cool. I wouldn't mind seeing him back. Sooner or later the light will come on for him and when it does he will be a solid QB. He has more physical ability than most QB's in the NFL. He already knows the system and the receivers so I think it would be a good signing.

His angst was that Step and Brown are no better than Shelton and Kendall. He claimed the picks would have been better served in other areas.

He had some stats to back up Shelton and Kendall but I missed them, and am not going to do research because I wasn't a Shelton or Kendall fan. I'm not an Elton Brown fan either.

I used to say that about Jake every year he wore Cardinal Red. Then I would get to read an article where Jake describe some game-killing play of his using words like "bone-head" and I would just cringe...

Denny has done a good job overall. He has made some mistakes. I agree that cutting Kendal and Shelton were bonehead moves. I disagree that E Brown is nothing more than a backup. He has drafted well.

Fire that off in an email to MJ.

About Brown...if Loney can light a fire under him, then he may turn out to be very servicable.

Talentwise I believe DG has done a great job. Edge would never sign here in the past. Berry and Okeafor wouldn't have been sought out, nor Clancy.

But the on field coaching last year was atrocious. It's hard to argue otherwise.

I think dumping Shelton was a mistake.

Kendall on the other-hand I can understand letting him go if DG felt he was gonna under-mind him trying to turn around the org. or something similar.

Jerkyboy can put a cork in it!! The team was in a complete shambles when DG got here and he just now starting to open every ones eyes that the Cards are no longer the Tards. Now they just have to start winning!!!

I know alot people here will not use all the players on IR as an excuse but can you honestly say Teams like the Seahawks or Stealers would have had the record they had if they lost 16 starters (or whatever the final number was)?

The problem is when you draft a QB, it is going to take time for them to develop. Jake is a good QB now and he continues to get better with every year of experience. Same thing happened for Rich Gannon. He had great ability, but it took him a long time to settle down and become a great passer.

Josh has a bigger upside because of his athletic ability. Most QB's take about five years before they are good. Even John Elway took at least that long. If Josh would come back I would keep him and let him continue to develop. Kurt Warner might have three years left in him, but that's about it. If we draft a guy like Jay Cutler or Charlie Whitehurst we will be watching them screw up for about five years until the game slows down for them.

It was Browns first year, plus he was hurt for part of it. The guy has tremendous ability and will be a very good starter for along time. The only guy we have on the roster now that has more ability is BIG. I think this year we will see alot of improvement from Brown and the following year we will be talking about why he wasn't selected for the pro-bowl.

I don't think to many fans that would not say the talent level now is much better than anytime in the past. I know I drink to much Cardinal kool aid but I am very optomistic about the upcoming season.

Dennis has had 2 freaking drafts and 1/2 of them were rookies last year... Please Jerk-eki, show us where teams have more rookies that are QUALITY STARTERS...

 Very unfair.

Two major differences.

First. the four starters are not just starters, they're Very good starters. Fitz already went to the probowl, and the other three are high quality starters.

Second, almost every other draft choice is pushing for a starting job or fills a valuable back-up role. This team is better than any McGinnis team, and, ceteris paribus, it should be harder for rookies to earn a roster spot and stay with the team. But, it's exactly the other way around.

For BIG, I still think he has everything it takes to be a premier LT. Very quiet guy from what I've seen at practices and the few times he's been at events. Might never be a great leader on the line........enough with the negative though.

I think the guy is pretty good in pass protection....could work a little on footwork and not leaning as much...but Loney should correct that. Can't really comment on him finishing run blocks, cuz after last season I don't know what the run blocking scheme was.

As for the false starts.....I'm not worried about it. Could of been a result of trying to compensate for his undercoached footwork. Or maybe he just needs to concentrate on the snap more.

As for Elton...he's got to show me. As of right now I view him as soft and lazy.
