Even with 16-0
Kolb won't get it
media will always credit the wins to our defense
The reason why the games are still close is because he isn't really doing more positive things than Skelton, but he is making fewer mistakes. That is keeping the defense out of as many tough situations. Last year this team was taking more chances in the passing game which was making more positive and negative plays combined. Another thing to consider is the competition that the Cards have faced in the first 4 weeks. They have been facing top defenses in each of the first 4 games. I wold like to see what happens tonight now that they are facing a poor run defense and should be able to sustain a few more drives in this game.+1.
My only small, tiny, insignificant point is, that Kolb's stats are in fact better then Skelton's no doubt. Yet, why are the same situations still happening ? Meaning winning at the end of close games ?
Shouldn't those improved stats mean easier games ? Same defense, better QB play, so why aren't we blowing teams out. And sorry, the defense blew the doors off the Eagles, so don't go there.
The thing Double Deuce taught me last year, that stats matter to a point, but a win is a win. And that is just a statement about Skelton, and in no way implies he should start over Kolb right now.
If Kolb is the better QB, and his stats so much better, and using the logic that better stats means better play, then I want to see Kolb light up the Rams.
I think that is fair for someone who still has reservations about Kolb right ? Go to a "weaker on paper" team, and win the game handily.
Kolb SHOULD HAVE done that against Miami, but it didn't happen. Still won, that's all that matters, but again, just want to see this improved QB play. I want to see the result on the scoreboard, and win and loss column.
All that said. It is a nitpicky comment, I am fine with Kolb getting it done anyway possible. All I ever asked form Double Deuce was to win the game, and that is all I ask of Blok. Go Blok!
The mere fact that we're having this discussion makes me all the more thrilled at how the season is going.
Doesn't Matt Forte have to go somewhere again? Bad wheel.Don't you have to BE somewhere in order to COME BACK from it?
Adrian Peterson or Matt Forte will likely be Comeback Player of the Year. Or Matt Schaub.
Doesn't Matt Forte have to go somewhere again? Bad wheel.
Not going to win any awards with it.13 rushes for 52 yards (4.0 YPC) Monday night in a win against the Bears. Not too shabby for a kid with a bum wheel.
Not going to win any awards with it.
AP will win it, if he keeps going.
Hmm, I would say yes. Who cares. He got hurt in December and was with almost all year. Would that really be a "comeback"

The judges accept this answer!
Can this game get here already!!
Starting Andre Roberts on my fantasy team. $1 waiver pickup.
If you look at strictly stats, he's killing it. If you look at wins...there you are again. If you look at some clutch throws and plays, once again.
It's not stupid.
He's making some mistakes for sure...everyone does. He's also making some good plays, too. And he's played some good teams, too, with good defenses.
I'm happy with Kolb...he's doing his job and doing it damn well. We are 4-0 against a tough schedule, and he's played more than damn decent.
Let him get some MVP chatter...unlikely he gets it at the end of the season, but I sure as ef ain't gonna bluster and bitch because he's being recognized for playing well.
He missed 3 quarters of the first game, and Cards went conservative in 3 others. So ya, 7 tds 2 picks is killing it for Kolb. Close enough anyway. As a team, the Cardinals rank
#23 in passing yards
#20 in completion %
#24 in passing yards/game
T#8 in passing TDs
T#10 in ints
As an individual, Kevin Kolb ranks
#27 in passing yards
#19 in completion %
#27 in passing yards/game
T#7 in pasing TDs
T#9 in ints
I'm not sure these stats support that Kevin Kolb is "killing it".

Robert EdwardsFrom a GRISLY ACL tear in December? To produce 1300+ yards and 10+ TDs after only 8 months?
Yeah. That would be a comeback. There was a Miami RB a few years ago who won more than a year later after getting injured in the Pro Bowl Beach Football game.
Edwards was chosen by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He rushed for 1,115 yards for the Patriots in the 1998 National Football League season, before blowing out his knee at an NFL rookie flag football game in Hawaii. Edwards barely escaped the injury without having his leg amputated below the knee, and he was told he might not walk again.[1]
Edwards would not play football again until 2002, when he made his return with the Miami Dolphins. In his first game back, against the Detroit Lions, Edwards caught a touchdown pass and ran for another score. He spent the rest of the season sharing third-down back duties with fellow running back Travis Minor. After the season, he lost his spot on the roster to Leonard Henry. Edwards was awarded the Pro Football Writers Association Halas Award for his comeback from his serious injury.

Wait until the winter comes. Ouchy. There is a reason why ducks fly south for the winter. And PM's duck passes will go south too. Or something like that.Don't know where the QBR poster was getting his ratings from:

Kolb is 24th in QBR. 18th and 17th in DYAR and DVOA. He's league-average, and you don't get MVP for being a league-average quarterback, even if it's for a surprise team. Just ask Alex Smith.
I think we're already forgetting who is going to be the Comeback Player of the year. You're going to kick yourself:
Peyton Manning. Duh.
How about if they make the playoffs? If he wins the MVP I will let all of Kolb's most fervent backers work together and design me a new avatar.

Cold weather. Brrrr. 4 neck surgeries. Ouch. Get ready Brock O.Shh... Denver's last four games: @OAK, @BAL, CLE, and KC. No reason that Denver can't go 3-1 and waltz into the playoffs.
In fact, Baltimore might be the only team with a winning record that Denver plays after thanksgiving. They might be the only team that Denver plays that isn't picking in the top 5 of the NFL draft:
@KC, TB, @OAK, @BAL, CLE, KC.
