As long as Bledsoe stays healthy I think our defense will be too good for us to fall into the bottom third of the teams. The West is killing the EC - plus 20 wins already - so seven or eight of the bottom ten teams will probably be from the East. If we were in the EC we'd likely make the playoffs and if we kept on improving during the year we could be the fifth seed. (Whoever finishes ninth is the West will almost certainly have a better record than the fifth seed in the East.)

The East has reached a strange level of parity below their top four teams. None are as bad as the worst last year but also none have improved a huge amount. Milwaukee has been the worst so far but Larry Sanders has played horribly and now he's out for six weeks with a broken thumb - from a bar fight. Cleveland is close behind but they've gotten zilch from Bennett and Bynum and Irving and Waiters have fallen off. So both teams could rather easily move up into the thick of things.
