For everyone saying it's going to be 6 years - no it's not

Bidwill will be forced to eat multiple years, only question is how many.

I feel like I just watched Gomer Pyle say Surprise Surprise with these extensions. I have a feeling Kyler Murray will get a huge contract this year as well. MB is clearly all in showing his hand on who he wants running this team giving these contracts to Keim and KK. I will say Keim is one of the best at making trades so I hope he can work a miracle this off-season because with no money for free agency he’ll have to.

My biggest disappointment is Vance Joseph not being replaced. I don’t like him at all as our DC. I just feel that he is just another system guy that doesn’t know how to use his players correctly. I believe in adjusting both offense and defense to players strengths not just making players adjust to his system which is soft. I’ve always hated zone defenses. Every offense just picks them apart with a decent quarterback.

Watching corners play ten yards off there man just pisses me off every time I see it. Almost as much as watching a 350 pound nose tackle drop back in coverage. I don’t think VJ even notice’s what players are lined up against each other. How many times do we have to watch a linebacker covering a WR to know that’s not going to work.

I only listened to about 4 minutes of the rant here, but not once did I hear anything about the fact that this team was decimated by injuries down the stretch. If the Cardinal team that started 7-0 & then 10-2 was the team that lost 5 of their last 6 games, then I don't think either of these guys would have been extended. Let's be real, the teams that stay relatively healthy are the teams that generally are left standing at the end of the season. That was not the Cardinals. Does Keim have to draft better, so we don't have to rely on older FA's to stay healthy? Absolutely. Does Kingsbury need to start finishing seasons A LOT better? Absolutely. This decision was rather an unBidwill type move when you look at the poor history of this franchise. Would Bill have done this? HELL NO. And maybe that's why he was the worst owner in the NFL for many, many years. So Michael is taking a different route. We'll see what happens.

Pass that crack pipe this way, my man! I’m gonna need it to get through this off-season... and the next FIVE SEASONS AFTER IT.

A lot of people assuming the unknown is better than a leadership group that is actually improving our win total year on year. Yes the tyres came off after a fast start but “if” that can be fixed then it’s all gravy. Melting down like a board that has won numerous Superbowls

I understand some of the frustration here but I don't think a lot of it is looking at the bigger picture.

I've been a big Kliff critic, but I can also see he improved a lot this year. 11 wins is tied 2nd for post merger season wins. Coryell had 11 in '75 (although in 14 games) and BA in 2014. Can you really fire your HC after 11 wins? Especially for a franchise like the Cardinals.

And he did it in the toughest division in football. Much tougher than when BA did it. Hell, the Rams and Niners were in the NFCCG and the worst team in the division still had 7 wins.

One thing I will say about Kliff is that each year he has had a major issue he has fixed in the off season. Year 1 it was RZ offense, which he fixed in year 2. Year 2 was game management and game planning which he at least greatly improved on in year 3. He is clearly improving.

The Titans have finished first in the AFC South the last 2 seasons but been 1 and done in the playoffs. Yet Vrabel just got an extension. I would argue that Zac Taylor in no better than Kliff. If not for injuries and some poor leadership down the stretch you can argue the Cardinals could have done what the Bengals did. Zac Taylor isn't a better coach than Kliff, but he didn't lose key players have have a sulky quitter of a QB. Taylor was just extended too.

Ballard and Reich were extended last off season. Despite not making the playoffs in 2019 and going out in the WC round in 2020. Ballard, who is lauded as one of the best GM's in the league, had a 32-32 record at the time. It's now 41-40.

So it's not really a surprise that they wanted to keep Kliff. And like it or not, Kliff and Keim are tied together.

This.

It's easy as fans to say "Blow it all up and start again!" because frankly, it's exciting isn't it? It's certainly more interesting than the status quo. New GM, new HC, new coaches. Lot's of potential for bitching about or praising new hires. Then you have a probable scheme change. Roster turnover. More players in and out than usual. It makes for exciting off season and gives you the hope that all those pieces fall into place and everything is magically fixed.

Of course, the reality more times than not is the opposite, especially for a franchise like the Cards that can't attract the best people. You get a crappy HC like Wilks, you get a patched together coaching staff from the unemployment line. You get disgruntled players who were happy with the previous coaching and think the new guy is a bum.

If we fired Kliff and Keim the odds of this team improving on last seasons record is about as high as Putin winning the Nobel peace prize.

We don't have the draft capital for such a trade. He's traded it away already.

I am guessing the casual Cardinal fan either likes these deals or really doesn't care either way. The team won a lot or games last year, got to the playoffs and have big named players like Watt, Hopkins and Kyler. There is a reason why JJ Watt has the best selling jersey on the team, and it's not because of what he did on the field last year.

The more knowledgeable Cards fans, along with the media, obviously sees these deals much differently for the most part. I haven't seen a single media piece praising the extensions. Most of the board seems to be questioning aspects of both deals at least. But Michael either doesn't notice or flat out doesn't care. I'm pretty sure he just doesn't care as long as he is having fun and making money.

I went through a similar scenario with the Bulls and their GM. If this situation runs on a similar timeline, things won't get better any time soon.
Ayup.

I've said this 1000 times. And frankly, if we were getting to play Football Daddy with our buddies all day and getting paid millions for the pleasure would we really give a crap?

Very few owners in the NFL actually care about winning super bowls. The odds are massively against you every year so why would you? If every owner went into the season thinking "We have to win the SB this year guys!" they are just setting themselves up for continual disappointment.

All they really care about is a respectable level of winning, so they aren't the equivalent of the smelly kid in the class at owners meetings.

Kingsbury being extended doesn’t bother me as nearly as much as Keim being extended.

I know how sadly easy it is for fans to side with the FOs, but there should be no scenario in where Kyler isn’t here, but Steve Keim still is.
I am 100 percent against KM getting a big extension at this point in time, but cannot disagree with you here.

I would love to hear where you have seen Kliffy grow as a coach. More creative offensive schemes? Heck no! Better play calling in the red zone? Lol. Time management/situational play? Lol. Ability to adjust ? Lolz

5... 8... 11... (playoff game).

Trying to think of a term that may describe this.

Let's see, let's see???

Got it!

In fact, I just thought of two: growth and improvement.

Lol.. so nothing notable to note that Kliffy has improved on, just the statistical win total when over the past 30 years - yes 30 years. Over 70% of the teams that selected a QB1 number overall made the playoffs within 3 years. Highly unlikely that over 70% of those teams made the playoffs because of good coaching. What is more likely.. over 70% of those teams made the playoffs through roster addition and selecting at least a starting caliber QB as the #1 pick.

An increase in the number of wins is by definition an 'improvement'.

You can divorce that from the H-C if you choose. Clearly, the guy who signs the cheques doesn't.

Ignore the statistics I just put on you. Ignore them and then give ZERO specific points how Kliffy improved. I love people who can’t support their cause.

I know Keim sucks at drafting, but just for ***** and giggles you know this is a PFF stat right? The whole basis for this graph is a WAR above expectations based on PFF grades.

And you are the first guy that says "PFF sucks" every time they are mentioned.

I love people who think that people have a duty to respond directly to their premise.

Mike B, privy to information that you can't lay claim to, is satisfied with KK's 'improvement', and that effectively is the end of the story for now.

So still nothing you can note Kliffys improvement on? Ok, cool. Good job pal.
