Free agent QB Kirk Cousins is visiting the #Vikings first, source said. That first visit is huge.




The #Vikings are in the driver’s seat for free agent QB Kirk Cousins. They offered him a 3-year, $28M per year deal. It is not over. But if the visit goes well, he is likely to sign there.

I don’t think there’s any chance we signed him… However Mike Garoppolo on NFL network this morning said “it’s very clear that the Arizona Cardinals have put forth a very strong offer and didn’t just dip their toes in the water just to pull them right back out again. They are definitely in the mix”

Clear the Cardinals are willing to spend some serious cash on this guy

Cousins is going for a visit. He isnt gone yet. Id rather him visit wth Cards second anyways. Find out what theyre offering and add a buck to it.

Reached out to sources with the Jets, told if they don't get Cousins, then they will turn their attention to Teddy Bridgewater.

Personally, after seeing what the Broncos did with Keenum, I'd give McCarron a similar contract (2 years / $18 million per), draft Laulette or Jackson in the 2nd...and still sign McCown to be plan B for McCarron.

Word is Cousins has a film crew with him during free agency. It'd be a short film if he takes the Vikes offer right away. He's gonna draw this out and screw us in the process if he's set on going to MN.

The dominoes begin. I am not excited he didn't go Jets or Broncos who draft in front of us. Keenum won't keep Broncos from drafting a QB they like. Now Browns, Jets, Broncs, Bills. Possibly Giants and Dolphins.

We're going to end up with Sam Bradford's knees at QB and nobody to draft at 15. Lovely.

Why? I think McCarron is very favorable to Keenum...plus you can afford McCown to be a backup...and a lot of people, not just me, think Jackson and Laullette can be good NFL QB's. Maybe you risk the 3rd round for Laullette, but the blueprint is there.

Yes, 2 years at $18 million per. Not sure of the guaranteed amount, but that's what NLF Radio announced a few minutes ago.

You can have both...Make McCarron the starter and have McCown as the plan b...then draft your QBOF in the 2nd or 3rd. It's totally doable and would probably be cheaper than just signing Cousins.

Sure, agree. Just thought I saw his name attached to another team in a rumor. And Bridgewater potentially to the Jets. I'd prefer either to Bradford, not necessarily because I know they'd be better but at least there's that hope of the unknown we can sell ourselves on.

I don't think he's better, but does compare favorably...which means the contracts should be similar. Nothing to break the bank over.
