I remember in 2021 Kyler had a caretaker game against the Bears. It was easy to accept then cause Kyler averaged 300 YPG in the previous 8 games. No need to worry about the development of Hop or Kirk, etc.

We're 25th in passing yards per game. This is the offense.

I do appreciate them trying to throw at the end, but again I watch enough teams dominate in the run and still see them hit play action passes to WRs off of it. They need to still bake in enough passes to MHJ/Wilson if we're serious about a playoff run.

Jets have a physical front as well. We'll see how it goes.

Please, hit the ignore button for the love of god!
I've only ever used it once, and that's for a poster that literally never posts except to antagonize. I never even ignored the (in)famous Tango! I would have missed the loving deer photo and the Ode to Jake if I had him on ignore :D

Everyone sees us now. DCs will start loading up the box to stop JC and company. They'll make Kyler beat them with his arm.

I'm pretty sure we're now like 1-

Which is what a top QB should want. Kyler and the passing game will have it's opportunity to shine, and when that happens, we will see what they can do with it.

I am not going to praise Kyler's game this week because it doesn't really deserve it, but I won't critique him for it either. this game was not about Kyler or the passing game. It was about the running game, and that is fine.

this is the correct take

I thought Kyler was a little sped up this week vs. looking very under control vs Miami.

I listened to the PFF podcast preview the Bears/Cards game. The main takeaway that Kyler isn't a top QB, but he has games or at his best where he's top 3 (or even the best) in the league. The inconsistency has been there for Kyler outside that stretch in 2021. I think Petzing has been kinda mid as an OC, but we don't always know which Kyler we're getting.

Using QBR as an example.

Week 1 (4)
Week 2 (1)
Week 3 (18)
Week 4 (25)
Week 5 (15)
Week 6 (18)
Week 7 (6)
Week 8 (2)

Based on trends he could be in for a below average month.

However, hopefully Kyler finds consistency and continues being a more impactful player. Or at least his lows (based on the day) arent as low.

Again big tests coming up.
Lets hope Im wrong on this.

week 9 (25 )*so far*

Again for me its about having more Miami games sprinkled. Not really concerned about that metric just to know our passing attack can carry if necessary.

Jets play more man coverage so maybe that's more of a Kyler running game.

I said it before and I'll say it again. K1 was good enough to win this week. I don't care about his stats, I care about wins. He led us to a win, and that's all this Cardinal fan can ask for.

I told my wife the defense won this game and I instantly corrected that statement that the running game was just as great and so was special teams

400 yard, 4 TD games are much more likely to result in wins than having a handful of high-leverage moments in most games where a bad call can put you in the loser’s column.

An untimely hold in a 40-24 game isn’t going to shift the balance. One in a 20-23 game will.
Nobody is arguing that. Thanks for playing though.

not sure this is much to crow about. that full season sample looks like every Kirk Cousins season. Basically makes the case for the "Kyler's a top 12-16 QB".

If we get this sort of production over a full season then it's solid enough to win around, especially the low turnovers

This metric just doesn’t have any meaning for me. What can you really get from 20 drop backs? Kyler was twice as bad a Bo Nix?

Okay I guess.
or worse than Caleb Williams?

65% completion % with a 7.7 YPA wont and no INTs wont win you many MVPs, but its hardly bottom of the NFL kinda performance

The irrational Kyler boosters aren’t going to like this, but this is sub-Cousins performance. Kirk failed to surpass 4000 yards in a season where he started at least 15 games one time in the past nine seasons.
