Russ… we need to win out - which we won’t - and then get massive help from BOTH Seattle and L.A.

I think Cards control their own destiny in regards to LA? One game back currently but if they beat LA again it will be a sweep. Seattle is the biggest obstacle honestly and unlikely they implode and Cards win out.

Still, Kyler playing well in the final three games when the team is technically still mathematically alive would be an encouraging sign for next year.

nah when he's on he's on and incredible to watch - but when he's not in that locked in zone he becomes extremely vulnerable - a lot of qbs play in real time where as kyler is either one step ahead or one step behind
Disagree. I have seen Vick. I have seen Cunningham. I can watch Lamar. Kyler doesn't out-spectacle them. His flashes are so rare they are almost a shock anymore and his inability to do basic things is incredibly frustrating.

That is a huge problem and totally unsustainable for a QB.

Nothing about today changed my mind- still out on Kyler long term
That's a guarantee. If you must have him here next year so be it, but the following, no way Jose.

He firstly would admit he's gotten the opportunity and did not succeed.

Kyler wrong pick then and now, to lead this team.

Ive always said if you don't have pitching in baseball and a good quarterback , you won't win alot of games.

That's basically what I meant but K9 is absolutely right I used the term wrong.

I am quite confident Seattle is going to lose 3 games. They will lose to GB, they will lose to the Vikings(both teams fighting for playoff positions) and I think they will lose to either the Rams or 49ers.

If seattle goes 1-3 they finish 9-7, Rams are 8-6 they have 3 left, if we win out that means we beat the Rams so they at best finish 10-7. So we would be 2-0 against them and win the tiebreaker.

So I said it incorrectly but yes that's what I meant if Seattle does what I expect, and we win out, we win the division. I still don't expect us to win out, I kind of expect the Rams to win the division

Seattle plays Minnesota next week & a TNF game @ Chicago to finish off with LA. Geno could end up missing next week.

Beat Carolina next week & he might have another chance to right his wrong.

Yup. Also means there’s a little juice on next week’s game. I want to see his best against a bad team next week to set up a big game against the Rams.

You still didn't answer the question. Obviously I'll take a win anyway, shape, or form it comes in. But if your QB has those kind of stats are you going to win enough games to make the playoffs or go deep into them?
It’s become very apparent. This offense will not win a game for us unless the stars are lined up.
Whether one thinks it’s Petzing, it’s Murray, it’s Murray and Petzing, it’s because we need a fast receiver, it’s the o-line or a combination of all the above this offense is inadequate.

Brace yourself if you haven’t already.

Kyler will be here in 2025.

He will 100% be. They said it on the post game show and said he deserves to be.

Followed by the very obvious question no one can answer...if not him then whom and why would they play for this poverty franchise?

The second half of that question is probably the biggest problem in getting someone as good or better at QB.

We have been painted into this corner. The only option is to build around Kyler.
We could make huge strides next year with a good draft and more importantly signing some free agents at strategic needs.

He is super mid right now. I absolutely admit it.

The problem is outside of 2 big old dudes that worked out, his midness is about as good as it gets.

I have no faith in the GM that burned picks on the crappy players he has the last two years to get a replacement.

I can’t argue with that.

Maybe we actually spend some money in FA next year… when there aren’t numerous legit pass rushers available like they were last offseason.

Anderson was sitting right there for us. Hunter was a FA. Burns was available for peanuts in trade when we were overflowing with picks. Any of those guys would’ve immediately elevate this D and Anderson would’ve been on cost control.

Passing on Suggs part deux just sucks.

Make the playoffs…sure. Win in them, idk it’s going to be difficult. I will say not turning the ball over is huge. Today was a crazy turnover day for quarterbacks.

I think Kyler is definitely being asked to be more of a game manager in the offense. In the higher scoring games, the Cards have struggled in because they can’t create explosives.

Yes, he will 100% be here next year, but largely because no better option exists in short term.

Doesn't change the reality that Kyler is mediocre to awful when hugely important games are on the schedule. I'm happy the team is still in the hunt late in December for the postseason but does anyone here have much confidence that Kyler will play well in these final three must win games?

It is frustrating because the defense is playing well above their skill level in many games after the first 1/4 of the season. If the offense wasn't disappointing, the Cards would likely have won around 11 games this year and been somewhat a threat in playoffs.(plus hugely optimistic about next year)
