Curious to see how Gannon and Monti approach Kyler this offseason. Do they still sing Kyler’s praises and laud him as some transcendent talent like they have the past two seasons, or do they become more objective about his porous play and start to challenge him to be better? The right answer is to find a way to get rid of him, but I know that’s not happening, so the best thing they can do is stop kissing his ass and tell him that this is unacceptable.
If he's their starter next season, be prepared for ass kissing at its Best

End of an era.

Dont really "fault" him for the ints. But for whatever reason (maybe its mostly him idk). He cant seem to get it done in AZ.

Both Kyler and the Cardinals need to end it this offseason. Probably best for both.

Promoting Drew Terrell or bringing back Petzing does nothing for me either (with Kyler). Gotta end it.
Tbh End of Era was really the Carolina game

True. I think beating a division rival/knocking the Rams out of the playoffs would have given some hope (false)

Im also just not sure Petzing gets fired. They've talked so highly about him that I think they'd want to see another QB would look like in his offense.

And yes shootout or not Kyler has to outplay the Bryce Young's of the world for us to be taken seriously as a franchise.

I’ll be honest, even if we won tonight, I still think LA will beat Seattle next week. They look almost as dysfunctional as we do.

I feel like I am watching short Derek Carr but who can run. I have no problem running him back out next year and starting to make plans for the replacement (vs waiting a year or two tool long like Keim would). Maybe we get lucky and a trade takes place and we get a different mid QB that makes planning the replacement easier. Maybe we pickup a mid round draft pick that appears solid to make the transition away in 2026. But as long as movement begins versus Clayton Tune and a hand me down, I can tolerate resources dumped into the defense with KM another year.

The first INT was definitely on Kyler and a couple of those crazy run backwards sacks that he had stopped doing for awhile showed up today too. But blaming the 2nd one on Kyler is just not fair IMO. the ball was right there perfectly the problem was Trey was held by #3 coming out of his break so he was slow to get his head around and the ball hit him in the helmet. Saying it was thrown too hard is just not true, it hit the helmet that's why it bounced so high.

That's just one of those things that happens to Cards and nobody else.

If it was thrown in the numbers would of been a different result. Ball coming that hard, that close ,with pads on can be a little awkward.

It was a good throw but because he got held coming out of the break Trey was slow to turn. If he was not held he would have had his head around and his hands there and that's a TD.

I think that's the same play where Kyler winds up with a big gainer to Trey and then it comes back because Adams was over the LOS for some dumb reason.

But yeah would like to take the big shot since there's no safety there

That's not a hold. That happens 10 out of 10 on that route. The ball should never be on his helmet, it should be a yard and a half wider and half a yard lower. Just a badly placed ball.

Trey had his head round in time, but was looking for the ball wider and lower, didn't have time to adjust his hands.

This is the difference between winning and losing, not even a difficult pass, this ia a layup for 95‰ of QBs.

McBride is the best player on this team, with Conner a close 2nd. If Kyler cared 1/2 as much and had 1/2 the balls of McBride the Cards would have won this sorry arse division this year

Kyler and Colt throw high-percentage passes short of the sticks. I mentioned this earlier in the season and got shouted down.

But I don’t think that chart illustrates that, either. I think it’s supposed to show how many yards a QB is leaving on the field by errant passes. You hope your QB strikes a balance between completing a lot of passes and being aggressive looking for big plays.

Kyler right now is What if Alex Smith Ran Five Times Per Game and it’s awful. Keim attempted to account for this by adding a bunch of YAC guys but it didn’t work. They couldn’t stay healthy and Kyler couldn’t consistently put the ball in a place where they could catch and run.
Checkdown Charlie stuff, yes.

God, the idiotic panic came back and got ramped up 1,000 percent. And watching that game showed exactly what grace under pressure can do if you have a competent QB, one who can get the ball out quick and is willing to take a hit to make the play.

Then there's the Checkdown Charlie/inability to find open receivers. I remember on the first rollout, a bootleg to the right, I knew as soon as he spun for the bootleg exactly what was going to happen--he was going to string the play out, somehow find nowhere to throw the ball, and scramble out of bounds. Strangely, that's exactly what happened. So predictable.

This was, however, one of Kyler's better games recently. That's a sad commentary on how awful he has been recently. Nine points. Nine clucking points. The only reason we didn't get our doors blown off was our defense hanging tough.

He wasn't as bad for sure, made some nice passes, and overall would have been a reasonable game, if he just wasn't so bad in clutch situations.

The INT late in the 4th was dumb (again) and the defense saved his ass and gave him another chance and again he blew his lines. That pass was a terrible pass. It was far too inside for that route, if anything it should be leading him outside so he has to reach for it. The bounce was unlucky, but that was an EASY TD for the win and he fluffed his lines again.
