But wouldn’t we have to suck to pick that high? The 2026 QB draft class looks pretty loaded. Manning, Leavitt (hometown), Allar, South Carolina QB, etc. short of getting a monster offer my guess is we ride it out for a year.

I get it but I don’t want to wait another year. I’ll be 72 by the start of next season. You should look up his new YouTube page, his mom and dad are at his house (usually sleeping or getting up) every game day , I don't think they live there just kind of weird but to each his own and his dad is in his ear a lot. Just something to look up and seeI wish Kyler's Dad was a lot more out of the picture.
If you were like, actually working for your Dad at a family owned business or something, that's one thing.
But your dad being around all the time as like a "life coach" or whatever... that doesn't seem very normal or healthy.

I don't know that the "Call of Duty" factor can be entirely ruled out, given Murray's collapse after the bye, just 3 weeks after the game was released.I do think that this year has quieted the “Call of Duty” sports talk bozos and we’re back where I said for last couple of years that it’s highly likely that Kyler just doesn’t have the physical abilities to be a top flight quarterback over an extended period of time. This isn’t a Leinart situation where he doesn’t care, it’s just likely that he has #1 overall pick expectations and hasn’t lived up to them.
Ha, no WC I think Murray's career is actually in jeopardy. What happened to the fat lady that was warming up?
I hope he finds it. I don’t hope he fails. But I have lost my faith of him being anymore than middle of the road with a few high points and too many low points.Ha, no WC I think Murray's career is actually in jeopardy.
Coming out of OU, I was supremely confident he would lead us to a championship. He was unstoppable! Arguably the greatest single season ever by a college QB. Even in the CFP game against AL, he rallied the team multiple times. Then of course there was the OROY, the pro bowls, all of the "first player in NFL history to do "x" and "y".
Now, unbelievably, I think there's a universe where he never even wins an NFL playoff game.
Even 12 months ago, I would have never, ever typed that sentence. But something is missing from his game (as demonstrated by another December collapse).
Based on the kid's will to win, his desire to be great, and his ultra competitive nature, I think he'll find a way to fix it, although I doubt it will be easy. There needs to be some soul searching this offseason. Some introspection. Some truth telling.
I think it will happen, and I'm still even a little confident, but far from sure. Hope all of that's not too crazy, haha.
Happy New Year!
Color me not surprised.Just heard that Kyler is 1-17 vs the division in November and December games.
Holy smokes.
Or trade up. If we are mediocre you package picks to trade up.But wouldn’t we have to suck to pick that high?

Is there Qb this year worth trading up for?
Colin Cowherd is a freaking idiot. Always has been.LOL
Steve Keim continues to feed FUD to Cowherd.
Jesus, stop with the call of duty poo.I don't know that the "Call of Duty" factor can be entirely ruled out, given Murray's collapse after the bye, just 3 weeks after the game was released.
And I don't think Murray's issues can all be blamed on his physical abilities.
Here's a post I made a couple years ago about an article in The Athletic that detailed a day in the life of backup QB John Wolford.
The Cardinals and Murray's social media teams have put out plenty of videos showing Murray working out, getting massages, having meals prepared, and other things to optimize his physical condition, and bonding with the WR corps in the off season - all of which are commendable. I have no doubt that he likes to work out and take care of his body.
But I don't recall ever seeing a mention from anyone on team, the media covering the team, or the current or previous front office, that Murray puts in the kind of study and mental preparation described in the article.
He seems vaguely "more mature" than he was under the previous regime, but has anything really changed since the team felt that he needed a study clause in his contract, and he said, "I'm not one of those guys that's going to sit there and kill myself watching film"?
If so, THAT'S the kind of thing I'd like to have heard about over the last couple of years - yet, it's been nothing but crickets on that front.
Colin Cowherd is a freaking idiot. Always has been.
That said, if on the table please and thank you.
I think, unless and until we begin to get solid reports of extra hours in the film room and intense mental study above and beyond normal, you will continue to read about the Call of Duty stuff. Kyler himself admitted his poor work ethic in that regard by talking about not needing excessive film study because he can just "See the field." Since then, we've gotten other maturity changes (in the offseason) but no reported changes in this sphere.Jesus, stop with the call of duty poo.
He has holes in his game, panicks and throws bad, boneheaded balls. The whole "COD" nonsense is meme ********.
This kind of talk is frustrating, because it props up the K1 fans, rightfully so, and doesn't address the core issues that need to be addressed by a coach worth a poo, or he needs to be bounced. We aren't a meme team. Check that. We are a meme team, but ffs let's be real.
Yea… I’m not one of the COD dudes who claims that’s Kyler’s problem.I think, unless and until we begin to get solid reports of extra hours in the film room and intense mental study above and beyond normal, you will continue to read about the Call of Duty stuff. The only thing that gives me even a little hope for Kyler is how much better Baker has been ever since he was signed by a team with an elite OL and two elite WRs. Mike Evans and Godwin are king makers. Of course Baker has always been a lot tougher than Kyler, and a much better leader than Kyler.Ha, no WC I think Murray's career is actually in jeopardy.

Keim actively likes talking to media personalities, it's gotta be him.I actually wonder if it's from Keim or from Kliff. I seem to recall Cowherd is a USC guy, has lots of connections there. I know Kliff wasn't there long but I wonder if he talks to Cowherd
So did he throw a bad pass tonight when he hit his WR in the helmet?
Unless we’re all ready to absorb another full-out tank year in 2025, Kyler is definitely on the team next year. According to Spotrac, he’d be a $63m dead cap hit if we cut him and a $33m cap hit if traded.

The soonest we can realistically cut or trade him is after the 2025 season when his dead cap hit will be only $20m. You could **maybe** trade him as a post 6/1 designation, but someone is going to have to pick up his contract and that’s still a 2 year spread of a $33m dead cap hit.

The best argument for Kyler Murray is this: Look at the NFC quarterback situation.
East: Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, ????
South: Baker Mayfield, Big Penix Energy, Bryce Young, Derek Carr(????)
North: Jared Goff, Jordan Love, Sam Darnold(????), Caleb Williams
West: Geno Smith, Matt Stafford, Brock Purdy, Kyler.
Not exactly a murderer's row. The AFC has Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow battling it out. There's no reason Kyler can't be a top five quarterback in the conference, which is likely a regular playoff appearance.
Pickett has no upside. If they could find a trade partner I'm confident they would eat the $33m in dead money.
The problem is that I don't see many options for them to replace him. There are players I'd roll the dice on for upside like Kenny Pickett, rather that than another year of Kyler, but otherwise the draft sucks and you can't really sign a FA like Darnold unless you already moved Kyler, which is unlikely.
Kyler derangement syndrome run amok once again. There's like 10 QB's there that are better than Kyler.
Dak, Hurts, Daniels, Mayfield, Goff, Love, Darnold, and everyone in our division.
