We didn't commit...it was just the other players that did.

Yeah, that doesn't make it any better. He knew of the event, but decided it was optional even though the other 21 guys showed up. Seems like he's big-timing (lol) the event.

Just be there and it won't be a big deal.

Erik Burkhardt, Kyler Murray’s agent, explained via e-mail Murray’s absence at a charity even this morn.1/2

"Kyler and his family didn’t arrive to Nashville until this afternoon. We never committed to any event today, and the NFL knew when he would arrive. Kyler is excited about tomorrow and looks forward to getting to his new NFL city and getting to work."
Hmmm...not sure how that could happen...

The NFL most likely gave Murray and his team the itinerary for the draft. It was EXPECTED he would be there. When they arrived late, the agent says they never commited. If they didn't commit, it was on them to inform the NFL Murray would NOT be attending. The agent knows this is a narrative he does not want for his client, and would have informed the NFL ahead of time. I think this whole explanation is BS. You don't take the chance of your guy looking bad.

It would've been better to just admit it was an oversight due to crazy schedule and they overbooked and look forward to another opportunity to contribute to the cause...etc.

I do not like Murray's behavior one bit during this draft process but will root for him because I am a Cardinal fan and will see the Cardinals on the field before I focus on just one individual... and I will not dump on him if he is our choice because it's normal for a rookie to struggle and not exactly indicative of their career and why I still value Rosen as a franchise QB

You shouldn't have to worry. Keim always says how character matters. Well actions speak louder than words. Everyone can make all the excuses for Murray and say its overreacting, but its time for Keim to put up or shut up. If Murray is the pick Keim is all talk and full of crap. Only 24 hours to go.

At least you are honest about it.

The anti-Rosen crowd already want him to fail and be replaced by Hundley if we don't draft Murray.
I've got to say I'm as anti Murray as they come and if this team drafts him then it's as about as dumb as when they drafted Steve Little this guy has more red flags than a bullfighter

Very good point. Does this pass the cardinal filter?

If they take him, fine. Build around him.
If not, fine, get some defensive monster in here and make it this teams defining characteristic, that if you play us, your QB is doomed.
Suggs on this side, Chandler Jones on that side, and Quinnen Williams coming up the middle. PP will keep you honest over the top.

Who cares if he showed to one event
But some of y’all will hold onto it for life

Because it’s a kids charity event that the other 21 participants attended, but he decided not to come because he had “other things to do.” That’s an indictment on his character, which has come into question of late. Like him or not, Murray and his reps have done a terrible job of masking or minimizing the red flags

It’s one thing to miss because of a crisis or you’re in the ER. It’s another to not think it’s important enough to attend and rather, show up an hour or two after it ended

Maybe Daddy thinks that's another way to keep KM in the forefront of everyones conversation and thinks KM is Teflon.

I still like Keim, I really appreciate that he came up through this organization, and I normally appreciate his approach to things. But, I think he has absolutely bungled the process leading up to the draft, unless they've informed Josh this is all a ruse.

He can redeem himself in my eyes by taking Bosa or Q, and building a nasty defense that can keep us in games.

I agree with everything except for the bungle part. We have no idea what has happened in the background so conclusions are unwarranted at this time.

Any way Murrays agent tries to spin it the fact remains he didn`t attend a league charity event when all the other invitees did show.No way to make that look good.

He did get drunk and bungle the head coach hire last year for sure- OC probably qb choice and draft trade and on and on - leading to this this first ever #1 draft choice!

Yes I’m concerned - but it does have entertainment value - kind of like waiting for the wreck on nascar
