Agreed. In my mind he just proved why Whis felt he wasn't able to lead men. He's a whiny little thing. I put more stock in Warner's comments last night on NFL network, where he said Whis was honest, had a lot of integrity and players love him. Said he'd do fine in Tenn.

You are right about Leinart. He turned out to not be a pro QB and I think he is just bitter at Whiz. But the facts are when Warner retired we did not have decent QB play at all. That falls on the FO and coach so some of what Leinart says makes sense.

Well no kidding. A HOF caliber QB retired. The team struggled trying to find a replacement. Thats the story of the NFL. Teams sometimes take decades to finally find their QB.

But don't fail to remember that Warner was considered washed up and old before Whiz got his Mitts on him. That same Warner contributed to 2 5-11 teams under Dennis Green. Was also dumped by two other teams.

There seemed to be a three-way tension going on; Whiz - Warner - Haley.

The one who was never involved in the offense was Leinart; dude couldn't remember what the formation should look like when he called it.

I think the difference is that Leinart, with as much exposure and notoriety as he still has, is held to a higher set of circumstances than the fans, and his life was somewhat professionally (and personally) affected by Whiz, even though I think Leinart should take responsibility for his own demise in AZ. Therefore, he comes off as having sour grapes and completely lacks objectivity. IMO, it was an opportunity for Matt to take a free shot at Whiz.

He could've gone the professional route and just said, "no comment," or tried to give a true analysis as opposed to mitigation.

True, but that isn't the purpose of the show. If they thought he would have given that sort of answer, I doubt he'd have been on.

edit: The show is kind of meant to be provocative. He was definitely taking a bit of a shot at Whis, but I think the real point he was making is that Whis needs a good, strong QB to succeed...with Warner, he succeeded, with Rivers, he succeeded; Tennessee does not have that kind of a QB.

Well his point is ridiculous considering that's pretty much the case with 99% of NFL coaches. No QB no success. Kind of a no brainer.

I think he has a legitimate gripe with Ken Wisenhunt. He was definitely more talented than max hall and derek anderson and probably john skelton but for whatever reason KW cut him and now Leinart is going to take a shot at him.

I like Ken Wisenhunt as coach of the Cardinals and am grateful for the Superbowl run and the playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. That said, it is not as simple to say that he just was unlucky in finding a QB. He was responsible for the crappy QBs who started and the inability to find even a competent starter. He also destroyed any confidence these guys had by putting them in a system that they were not suited to play.

Leinart forgets one thing. Let's say everything is true about Warner calling a majority of the plays. That is still not running a team because a head coach is responsible for heck of a lot more than just some offensive plays...or a lot of coordinators could be successful head coaches
