How is his 1st year been and do you see him as worth that high of a pick as the years go by. I only get to follow the games via the computer, and don't seem to here his name mentioned much.

Seriously, another one of these threads. You are just trolling and know very well that he plays the same position as Washington and Dansby. Who do you bench to play him? Please, enlighten me.

Whoa, whoa, there wasn't any "he seems awful and he's a bust" stuff coming from the OP, just a question since he can't follow the games on TV or Radio.

Minter hasn't done much besides play special teams, but he's behind Dansby and Washington, so that's to be expected.

I think that Minter is going to be a stud. He's waiting his turn as a good rook behind two excellent veteran starters should. Meanwhile he's been making some big hits on STs.

I think it is a good thing to be able to develop a player the way they are with Minter.

He has started several threads just like this in the last 48 hours, including that Russell Wilson stinks and we need to sit all of our starters yesterday since we did not have a chance and playing them was dumb. He is trolling

He leveled the returner on a kickoff yesterday. He will be a big run stopper, will be interesting to see how he does in coverage.

Did you see our Campbell came up to him after that play and got in his ear...giving encouragement? Calais has become a great leader on this team.

Well, people that follow their own threads will likely talk about it. SissyBoyFloyd? Probably not so much.

Minter made a BIG special teams hit yesterday. So that's good. Minter could turn out to be a solid player, and we may find out in 8 months if Dansby doesn't come back. But we also lost whatever value we could have gotten from a 2nd round pick at tackle or wideout or tight end or something.

So, could turn out to be a good player, but that won't change a lost of one year's cost-controlled performance on the field.

I'm still wondering why so many people are pencilling Earl Watford into a starting guard job when he's been inactive literally all season.

I agree with that. I mentioned in another thread that we have to HOPE he progresses enough or it is either Fanikia or Colledge next year at RG since we have seen nothing to indicate otherwise

We'll see next year in the event that we can't bring Dansby back.

+1

I have no worries about Minter when he is playing behind a Pro Bowler, and a player who threw his hat into the Defensive player of the year discussion.

Just like Aaron Rogers sucked when he was behind Brett Farve

I have a hard time believing that Colledge is here even if he's a Pro Bowl alternate or something. His play just seems to continue to decline. It feels like he had three penalties yesterday.

I have no problem with Fanika staying in the starting lineup as long as Cooper comes back playing well and we replace both Winston and Sowell. SOMEONE has to be the worst starting lineman--you can't run 5 Pro Bowlers out there.

I think Minter will be a great LB to play alongside Washington down the road. He is a run-stuffer and knows how to tackle. He isn't the athlete that Dansby is, but I think he will fill in as the SILB the way a normal one does. Somehow we have been able to play a 3-4 (sometimes 2-4-5) with two WILB, and have had a great run defense.

Hopefully Los stays around a few more years and maybe allow Washington or Los to move to OLB on passing situations and let Minter play in the middle, cause both Washington and Los are very solid pass rushers. But to hate on Minter now is pointless....he is stuck behind two of the best inside linebackers in football this year.

I think salary cap necessitates that move. College has a big number attached to him. At the right price, I want Winston back-- it ensures a minimum level of play

I'm still pretty convinced that the Cards wanted to draft an offensive tackle or one of the TEs with that second-round pick, and when Ertz went off the board they just kind of threw up their hands.

I think it makes sense to release Colledge and Dockett after next season. We'd save almost 12m combined instead of 6m. We would more than 40m under the cap going into the 2015-16 season and that's counting Fitz' 21m cap hit.

I think thats right, trading back showed they didnt have any players worth 2nd round pick when they were on the clock

The most concerning thing about Minter is that while Washington was on suspension he couldn't unseat Brinkley for any decent playing time. To me that speaks volumes. Considering ILB's generally transition to the NFL very well.

Minter is depth behind two MONSTERS and in the limited time he has seen the field, he has made some heavy hits. Dude's got a motor, that's a good sign. He's being mentored by Wash and Los..another good sign. He's going to be a solid run stopping LB, and I have no qualms.

Still has to prove it, but trolling about his production thus far is stupid. Surprise, this is what happens with good teams...2nd round picks aren't automatic starters because the guys in front of them are actually GOOD.

Get used to this new mentality.

Agreed. The thing that concerns me about Minter (only going by what I saw of him in highlight tapes and the pre-season) is that he seems slow.

His instincts are through the roof, as well as his recognition, but he doesn't seem to have nearly the same amount of speed as Dansby and Washington.

Just my 2 cents.
