And how is one to know except after the fact?. Wells didn't miss a game in College due to injury, if I recall correctly.
The quality of athlete they are. Adrien Peterson is an absolute freak of an athlete and that was no different when he was drafted. If Beanie Wells for instance was as good as an athlete as Peterson someone would have gambled on him in the top 10.

The best part about this is I don't have to see Bucky post in every single thread that Levi sucks. :D

I bet you will, but the good thing is that the thread title will now have a OT in front of it. :D

No one is seriously comparing the two then or now and Wells was considered good value at the end of the first.

Wells missed a lot on parts of games. Many on here called him soft right when he was picked. Skkorpion for one. :)

But he was also considered a gamble even in that spot. Just not as much of a gamble as it would have been for a team to take him in the top 15.

It is conditional draft picks from the sound of it we are looking at one pick in the 5-7 range.

He will. He will play out of his mind and become an all-pro. That's just how it works, because the football Gods hate us. :bang:

He will play average, but because he is a Steeler, he will make the Pro Bowl.

How many pro bowl OL come from teams with fewer than 6 wins? :)

KC had a pile from a 2 win team.

1. Jamarcus Russell - Raiders
2. Calvin Johnson - Lions
3. Joe Thomas - Browns
4. Gaines Adams - Bucs
5. Round Mound Brown - Cards
6. Laron Landry - Redskins
7. Adrian Peterson - Vikes

Steelers are crapping and falling back in it- over our normal 4 game loss streak!
at least Gay went to better place! dung in cheek-

http://www.steelers.com/news/articl...wer-fast/d54b193e-e897-4709-a76d-ca25805a3ae4

“We have to play harder, be more detail oriented and focus more on the little things. That is obviously what is killing us,” said Gay. “Everybody has to be executing on the same page. It’s like we are one play away from winning, one thing here, one thing there. Everyone has to get on the same page and it has to be quick. There is no time for waiting anymore.

“We just have to get a win. A win will stop it. Now that we are 0-4 a lot of wins have to stop the problem. Not just one win will do it. We have to stack some wins. Just one win is not going to solve it.”

The team will have to wait a little while to start stacking those wins. They have their bye this week before playing the New York Jets on Oct. 13 at MetLife Stadium. That gives them plenty of time to work on what is ailing them.

“We have to find a way,” said Clark. “It’s hard. We want to win. I don’t work out all offseason and grind the way I do to come in here and lose. Losing is hard. Nobody wants to lose. Everybody has been digging deep. The sword is sharp, we just have to start cutting stuff.”

But, if I remember correctly the "crystal ball" says that you don't select players with an injury history in College.

Minnesota must have a different crystal ball. and let me save you from the tired "6 other teams must have had the same crystal ball we did"...those 6 teams all took the first rated player at their position, some had running backs and NONE reached for an AWFUL player who was a reach at the time.

It is over. It is done.

Steelers announce the deal is final. Not pending. Not conditional upon a physical. The deal is complete.

No backsies!!!

happy to see Levi's not in our future and never will be.

still really confused as to why it took this long to realize it and why guys like Braden Albert and now Monroe weren't gotten so that we don't know have to start a guy who was cut at the end of the training camp.
I agree. Like the trade, but we could have been more proactive with another LT. Also King Dunlap is playing well for San Diego. He was available preseason I believe.

Quotes from Big Ben:

http://www.post-gazette.com/stories...uire-levi-brown-in-trade-from-arizona-705810/

"I don't have much of a reaction," Roethlisberger said. "I obviously know the name. It's Pittsburgh West out there [in Arizona], so it makes sense. We'll just have to see what the plan is for him and the other guys that are here."

Whether Brown is the starter for that game, Roethlisberger said, will depend on how he approaches the next few days.

"We'll see," Roethlisberger said. "It depends on how much work he wants to put in. How much does he want to be here? Is he going to be here all weekend? Does he want to put the time and effort into be that guy? Who knows if he is that guy? Is it Beachum or Mike? We don't know. I guess it will be a matter if he can learn the offense when he gets here."

I can answer that, Ben. No, he doesn't.
