So some questions that will have no way of being answered.

Desmond is now Bill Murray from Goundhog day in a way.

So how many times has he done this?

How far has he been ahead? Not much at all? Was Charlie dying trying to save Clair the last thing he saw before he came back again?

Does he come back to the same point in time? Laying on the ground after the hatch blows up?

My head hurts.

Worst episode yet. Could have been condensed into a 5 minute blip of a real episode.

Alot to digest? um ok.

I give it one more show. They are promising answers instead of just piling on questions. I dont think the writers have the skill to actually answer anything.

Too many shows have surpassed this one in writing and they dont take weeks off in the middle of the season.

heck Beauty and the Geeks was more interesting.

'Lost' Producers Upset About Destroyed Footage

The producers of hit TV drama Lost have been handed an expensive headache after film canisters featuring master footage was erased by an airport X-ray machine. The show bosses are still trying to figure out who to blame for the costly mistake, which could leave them having to spend an extra $300,000 to reshoot the scenes on the destroyed film. According to sources, film of the show accidentally went through an x-ray machine at Honolulu International Airport in Hawaii, where the series is shot - and was wiped. Lost producers claim security personnel at the airport are to blame because they didn't take note of warning labels asking them not to put the film canisters through an x-ray machine. But airport insiders state the film canisters were mistakenly mixed in with passenger luggage, leading to the error.

I think the most interesting question surrounding this episode: who was the lady that explained to Des about the roles we play in the universe?

They better answer some question next episode like they say they are. Otherwise I can see myself drifting away from watching this show.

I am not totally convinced that he ever actually went back. This could be some clever misdirection to get us thinking one thing but it's not actually what happened.

Plus if the producers were going to kill of another main character, do you really think they would hand it to us on a platter like this? I don't think they would.

Very confusing episode, was that really happening, was he hallucinating?

I assumed that meant Claire was going to die but I guess it was Charlie, so does this mean Charlie will be killed soon? Did they write this episode after watching that teen movie where the kid thinks the plane will explode, he and his friends all get off, and then the plane explodes and they spend the rest of the movie, plus at least one sequel, dodging death?

I love time shifting etc, that's what made the Terminator movies so interesting to me, but this is a new twist on it to be sure since Desmond seems to have partial memory of what's happening, most of the other people don't, except for the woman who didn't want to sell him the ring. She was in that Nicole Kidman movie The Others.

Interesting but more baffling than anything, not sure where they're going with it.

And the part that I really didn't like is if Charlie was supposed to die trying to rescue Claire, why the hell was Charlie out in the forest a mile away? the only reason Charlie ever got involved in that rescue was Desmond saw it before it happened and went running, Charlie would have been nowhere near the beach otherwise. Just didn't make any sense, if you replay that incident without Desmond seeing the future, Claire drowns with Charlie a mile away doesn't she?

I thought about this for a moment too, but then I realized that it was Desmond who took him out there. If not for Des, Charlie would have been on the beach.

Something else tripped me up, but I think they explained it away:

What the hell was charlie doing preforming on the street? He's a major rock star. I originally thought that meant that Des was in another time-"thread," one in which Charlie didn't make it big.

But, then the woman explains to Des that he'll spend the next 2 years training for the boat race and the following 3 pushing the button, so I guess it's likely that Charlie hadn't made it big, yet.

That is what I was trying to remember. Who got Charlie to go into the forest. Thanks for jogging my memory.

I think Desmond does stuff without even knowing he is doing it (for now), like asking Charlie to go into the forest. Then he also has visions that are vivid enough he acts on them. He is like a super hero who has just discovered his powers and is learning how to use them.

What makes you think he's done it more than once?

Well, because Charlie died at the lightning strike, he knew it, then he fixed it with the lightning bolt.

Then he dies in the water because he was saved from the lightning.

But then Desmond saw that and stopped it too.

Either he's reliving things, or he just KNOWS what's going to happen like he'd already lived it... I dunno.

I didn't really like the LOTR movies that much. They were okay, not great...or even really good.

Yer insane.

They WERE really, really good...whether they followed the books or not, they were amazing. The RotK won best picture for the love of Oscar :)

Ah I think you're right on that part, he led him away so he could then run back and be sure Charlie wasn't on the beach?

Good catch.

That's what I got from it. His life "flashed before his eyes, only the flashes never stopped."

That sounds better to me than him doing the Groundhog Day thing...which i was starting to think would be lame.

This was several years ago, perhaps before he made it big?
