Yeah, found out some things tonight:

- One of the Others needs surgery, hence the reason Jack is needed
- They have a SUBMARINE, if I heard right. That's why they weren't wet when they boarded the boat last week, which I was thinking was just an oversight.

Good stuff. I didnt make the connection on either of these.

Awesome episode - did answer a few questions, and of course, raised others.

I am guessing Benry is the person with the tumor.

Telling that Juliet was a fertility doctor - ties back to the need for babies/young.

Man, do the others know how to screw with your mind.....

Awesome episode....Sawyer is the man. Called most of it though...except that
the others live on a separate island
.

Previews for the next two weeks however...look....a-maz-ing!!!!

I actually pegged teh spoiler part because of the episode on the raft when they took Walt.

The pacemaker deal really freaked me out though.

Season opener showed that the others are on a seperate island. First scene showed the plane crash on the seperate island.
Actually, the season opener implied that it was on the same island. They had Ethan hiking to the crash site.

And, not only can Desmond either "see the future" or has lived a portion of the future (time traveled), he can change it. I think that's the single most important thing we learned.

The most important thing I learned was don't play golf in a storm.

Of course being a fly fisherman I already knew it's not a wise thing to hold a 9 foot piece of graphite in your hand pointing up when there's lightning around.

I'm assuming Desmond did that because if he hadn't the lightning was going to strike Claire's hut?

No it didn't...they were all on the same island in the first scene. I'll find a pic somewhere.

Yes - remember, he was trying to get Claire to temporarily move from her hut. She refused, so he took another route to protect her.

So thinking out loud, he can see the future, was just the hut going to be destroyed, or was he trying to save her baby? And if it was the baby, was it an "accident" that lightning was going to hit the hut? Remember Claire was warned about her baby, maybe the lightning strike was intentional?

Or maybe I'm just thinking too much because it's lost.

ABC will bring back "Lost" on Feb. 7
After a 13-week hiatus through the holidays, "Lost" will return Feb. 7 for an uninterrupted run of 16 episodes.

16? I thought initial reports were 6, then a hiatus, then 6 more. 16 would be great although 13 weeks is a long time to be off again.

I think we're being led to believe that it's one of the Others that has the tumor on his spine (Ben), but I think it's Sawyer.

I think it initially was that, but now it's just the first 6, then a long break, then all the rest in a row.

I don't think that's accurate. The Others looked up in the sky and saw the plane pass over, it didn't show that it crashed on a seperate island. If that was the case, last night would not have been a cliffhanger because we would have already known there was more than one island.

Wow, you just blew my mind.

Could it have anything with Henry asking how old Sawyer was and Jack asking who's x-rays they were?

They could have easily got the films when Sawyer was out cold.

I don't think it's Sawyer at all...I mean, it makes a nice twist, but they couldn't have known it was him all along.

Why go through all this just to have Jack operate on Sawyer?

No, I definitely think it's one of them that needs it, and probably Ben.

Actually, now that I think about it...I'll bet is Juliette.

We kind of speculated about it when they kidnapped Walt off the boat, because their boat was headed out from their island and the Others boat appeared to be coming from further out, and then left the same direction. So it was implied they didn't leave the same island and go get Walt, they left another island, met them, got Walt, and went back to the other island?

I know it was mentioned in the original Lost thread./

Why would thay have had to "known it" all along? Or, they could have known it all along. They seem to know a lot.

Also, it's not Juliette because Jack said the x-rays were that of a 40-year old man.

What got me thinking about it is they made a big deal out of Sawyer's age. ("how old are you?" "32...okay, okay. I'm 35." ... then later, "assuming you were telling the truth about your age...").

And, then Ben also says something possibly crytic about Sawyer and death in response to fake-beard-guy: "You know so-and-so wants Ford dead." "Well, he'll just have to wait." ...maybe implying that Sawyer is as good as dead?

I dunno. I think it's Sawyer. I think in the previews they maybe cut it so that it looks like Jack is delivering the bad news to Ben, but in reality is delivering the news to Sawyer.

Great line and delivery by Jack:

"Are you just saying that to make me feel better?"

"I don't want to make you feel better."

...or something like that. I thought that was a very well acted scene.

The patient is Benjamin, Jack actually addresses him about the condition in the preview. Did everyone really miss that?

They made a big deal about Sawyer's age as part of the plan to keep him there and put the fake pacemaker in him.

The whole thing between Ben and Zeke regarding having to wait seemed to me simply saying that they have plans for Sawyer, not that he's got a huge tumor on his spine.

I'll eat a lot of crow if it's Sawyer, but I'm convinced it's not.

I think it was: "I don't care about making you feel better."

My problem so far with this season is the way the Others are being portrayed. Not one thing they have done so far makes them look like "the good guys", as they called themselves (and who Trixie calls themselves before Sun shoots her).

I think that's kind of the point. They may see themselves as good guys, but their not.

The best villains, IMO, don't think they're villains. Rather, they see their world view as rightious.

As for Jack addressing Ben about the condition...I addressed that, too. I don't think they were in the frame together, were they? IIRC, they showed Jack delivering the message about the condition, and then cut to a reaction from Ben. They could easily have cut it to seem like they were talking to each other rather than taking it directly from next week's show.
