My problem so far with this season is the way the Others are being portrayed. Not one thing they have done so far makes them look like "the good guys", as they called themselves (and who Trixie calls themselves before Sun shoots her).
I think that's kind of the point. They may see themselves as good guys, but their not.
The best villains, IMO, don't think they're villains. Rather, they see their world view as rightious.
As for Jack addressing Ben about the condition...I addressed that, too. I don't think they were in the frame together, were they? IIRC, they showed Jack delivering the message about the condition, and then cut to a reaction from Ben. They could easily have cut it to seem like they were talking to each other rather than taking it directly from next week's show.
That's what I think. However, outside of Juliet's meek game she's playing, you don't get the feeling that ANY of them think they are "good guys". How can they think they are good guys when none of them actually act like it? To each other?
Previews kind of showed Eko getting hit with a knife. I don't know what his role is now other than his relationship with Locke. They could easily eliminate the character and have a few guest appearances as part of hallucination (like Boone in 3x03).
Based on info elsewhere, it seems likely someone is getting the ax before the show goes on hiatus.
Question: The preview for tonight's Lost was intense. Please tell me Sawyer is going to be OK!— Shannon
Ausiello: Sawyer's not the one you should be worrying about. (Spoiler Alert!) Next week, a major character (as in a series regular) whose name is not Sawyer will join Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia and Libby in the big island in the sky. And you're not going to believe who it is. I won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes.
Other than Eko, I think another likely suspect is Sayid. He's going to be in dangerous situations and does not seem to have a strong role on the show anymore.
09/26 - [Kristin from E! said in her chat: "I'm hearing we'll see a one-eyed-wonder very soon. Think Daryl Hannah in Kill Bill except male and not previously amphibious."] It's a new character, late 40's. A formidable man, tough, a real survivor. A real sense of charisma and danger. Possibly recurring. Source: secretagentman @ TWOP
As soon as they put that pace maker thing in Sawyer and told him that his heart rate had better not go above a certain level I knew exactly what would cause his heart rate to sky rocket.
Sure enough there was a topless Kate and his heart rate started to jump. That was classic how he dumped the bucket of cold water over his head!
A couple episodes ago, Jack was hearing voices on the intercom -- including his father's that said: "Let it go, Jack."
Ben told him that the intercom hadn't been working for years. But, appearently it does because we know for certain that he heard Sawyer and that that wasn't an hallucination.
So, is Jack's father alive and somewhere in the Zoo? He coffin was empty when Jack found it in season 2, right? And, he has "seen" him on the island.

Now that's a thought. I assumed the reason he heard Sawyer was the same thing that knocked OUT communications for them in some places, suddenly made that work, presumably the electromagnet deal.
But I like your explanation a lot better than mine.
The problem is, as we've all learned, if you think you've figured something out...you know you're wrong.
But, Jack's dad is subtley very interconnected to many of the characters...Ana Lucia, Claire...and even Sawyer had a run-in with him. So, maybe it's not that far fetched that he gets thrust to a more center-stage.

I think that's a good call. Plus, it adds a layer of complexity to the Others' reaction when they find out she's preggers (if they don't already know).
But then again, the show is pointing towards children being very central to the story so Sun may be safe from being written out simply because she is pregnant.
I wish it would the Aussie chick or the hobbitt. Both are irritating and the Aussie chick really has not primary part in any of the storylines any longer.
I thought it would be Sawyer. I read an interview he did recently about him not wanting to do the same type of role after Lost and how the actors are on edge because they could be killed off at any moment.
