I'm almost certain, that at the end of the day Shawn Marion will indeed screw the suns once again, as he does every year during the playoffs.

This is sort of starting to sound like when McGrady was traded to Houston, and Francis kept saying he wouldn't play for Orlando, but finally he relented. Unfortunately, that worked out terribly for the Magic, so to the extent it sets a precedent, the Wolves are probably terrified.

From SchadenFreude, er, LakersGround:

Anyway, a good friend who would not lie to me about it or feel any need to make it up was telling me that he had a discussion with a KG relative and my friend said he just had to ask if there were anything to the rumors about KG becoming a Laker. The relative said that all they knew was what KG had told them recently. KG said that he didn't want to come to LA in a very pointed and dismissive way that indicates a degree of contempt for the idea.

Well, besides the fact that Francis was not even in the same dimension as McGrady as a player. At least Marion will approach KG's efficency stats.

if Marion is the reason this trade doesn't happen after what he has said in the past he will never be able to show his face again in the valley! I will cry.

As already mentioned big mouth marion wants to be the man on a non-contender, in boston he wouldn't even have the pressure of being the man, just the no. 2 guy, but now he's back-peddling like a little beyotch.

You guys are crazy. Marion couldn't care less what we think. It's like asking you to leave an white-collar work environment to go to McDonals and flip burgers for the same money. Would you do it? Would you WANT to do it?

Marion has made mention a number of times that he would like to be featured more in the offense. If he's not happy with his role here and won't play in BOS or MIN, wft does he want? That's the problem. He won't be happy no matter what. Does he want some of Nash's dribbles or some of Amare's post opportunities? I would like to hear him go on the record and really say what he wants -OR- stop bitching about honors and such.

It's amazing how stakes the high are. If the trade goes through, the Suns are title favorites. If not, it's a chemistry disaster of epic proportions.

The outlook for the next several years hinges on what happens over the next few days.

Marion is like the guy in every office who knows the product better than anyone and works from early morning until late at night, but still can't close the big account. These are the guys that never understand why the top closer gets all the perqs.

I wish it was over the next few hours and not days :bang:

He's like a lot of players in professional sports in that he wants it all: a shot at a title, to be featured in the offense, and to be well paid. Lets not act like Marion is the only one that wants that

Its just a matter of figuring out what of those 3 things are highest on his priority list

Excellent spelling of "perqs." I've always felt it should be spelled that way, even though the dictionary-writers disagree.

Thanks! So are you are for advisors or advisers? Webster and AP Style Guide disagree.

Yes, but tobiazz would buy a little marion doll and stick it with needles, and hate on it!(sarcasm)

But more seriously, I agree, marion has a right to do what he thinks is best for his career. I sure would like him to facillitate the suns getting KG, but WE arent going to do anything to make it happen, WE are bystanders to the whole thing. ASF, many of these guys ARE crazy, and/or FANatic.

It has taken a turn for the worst due to lack of new information and now we are debating spelling and getting endorsements for new words from "official" advisors. It is still entertaining though. Can someone please just call Garnett and ask him what is going on?:D

Unfortunately, it looks like at the end of the day, your favorite, shawn marion, will indeed screw the suns once again.

I don't know how I'm gonna be able to watch this team next year if I have to see his ridiculous face.

here's my take

we're not trading amare. if it takes marion & barbosa & the pick, i think we'll do it. we'll bring in a 3rd team if we have to.

remember, minnesota isn't playing from a position of extreme power here. they either take what the suns offer, or keep KG for a year and lose him for nothing.

the suns meanwhile can do nothing and have a top 3 team next year or part with non-essential parts and pick up a superstar.

barkley all over again?

so here's the question: where does MARION want to go? this is the lynchpin. wherever he says is the 3rd team, and they need to have assets to get to Sota. crazy.

Marion is going to completely F@# this up. Though Marion would be stupid to leave 5 to 7 million on the table by opting out, it wouldn't surprise me. If this is true and we have to clear it with Marion as to which team he goes to then a trade for KG WILL NOT HAPPEN.

No way no how.

if Marion really holds this up, he will officially become the most hated member of the Phoenix Suns of all time from my perspective.

He complains about not getting his due, he talks about going to another team and the possibity of being THE man DURING A PLAYOFF RUN and now, that it appears he gets that shot, he says FU?

Well guess what Tortilla - FU!

I wonder if there are any other teams in the Western Conference (that were in the playoffs) he might consider. Ugh. Dallas just slipped out of my mouth.

Marion doesn't have enough pull in this matter. There is no way he goes to Boston, and then opts-out giving up his 17 mill. Call his bluff Ainge. If he does want out next year, try a sign and trade.

I will hate him forever if he is the sole reason the Suns cannot land Garnett. It pains me to say that, but someone like Marion should not have any control where he goes.

Does anyone "official" endorse "perqs"? That would be cool.

You and me, because we know "perq" is short for "perquisites." We also probably agree if you lose your temper, it means your temper was "piqued" not "peaked."

But I'm really not one for grammar and spelling. Just check most of my posts on this board. LOL!
