Maybe Wells is there at 31.

but he could be :mulli:.

i think i read somehwere that today is the day teams receive the actual medical reports and failed drug tests from the combine so it will be interesting to see what leaks out over the next few days.

Many do their own medicals on players -- I think one of the reasons the Cardinals had him here was a chance for the team Docs to have a look at him--

at risk of alienating Cbus (a poster I often agree with) -- Wells is fourth among my preferred backs: Brown, Moreno, McCoy and then Wells.

BTW: this makes the Cardinals taking Wells a virtual certainty. You heard it here first.

cbus, you are to be commended for your persistence. Your one man Crusade to bring your homeboy to the desert will one day be legendary if we do take Beanie and he turns out to be a great pro RB.

I hope your judgment is proved correct if we do draft Wells.

Wells is my first choice at RB as well, followed very closely by Moreno. I still don't think either will be there at 31 though.

(I just posted something about this on another thread):

I charted the top 31 players on my board to see where they fell in the mock drafts of 5 so-called leading-experts.

Forget about Wells. If you believe the gurus, he'll be gone somewhere between #9 (Green Bay) and #16 (San Diego).

Kiper has him going at #14. So does McShay. War Room has him going at #16, Prisco at #9, KFFL at #13.

Of course gurus aren't teams; & stranger things have happened - sometimes late rumors that are damaging to a prospect can have legs. But all things considered, I don't think the dude makes it past the Chargers.

Usual Shennenigans going on before the draft. GM's, agents, and players all giving out info to push players down to them, get their player drafted higher or leap another player at their position, and so on.

Remember the injury talk about Peterson before the draft about chronic bone condition or soemthing like that, or about DRC and his 1 kidney. I have come to the conclusion that any info given out the week of the draft is the reason for the coining of the term "take with a grain of salt".

I don't really buy the medical thing much, but I read today that New Orleans is leaning more towards Malcom Jenkins and that's where I thought Beanie was headed. If New Orleans does indeed pass on him, I see Phili preferring Moreno and Brown over Wells for some reason and then Wells could possibly drop.

He may drop but I seriously doubt he will make it past the Colts, Patriots, Giants, and Dolphins who will draft BPA.

I could see the Colts or Patriots, but I don't see the Giants or Dolphins.

31. Cardinals Chris "Beanie" Wells RB Ohio State

Wells gives the Cardinals a chance to release Edgerrin James and create a two-pronged backfield with Hightower and a power back like Wells. "Beanie" needs work on his pass-catching skills but would give the Cardinals a 235-pound inside running threat with speed (he ran a 4.34 40-yard dash at his pro day).

Wells is intriguing to me..

i still think if Wells start dropping that a team like Cleveland that has a low second round pick will trade up to get him. Cleveland really needs a running back and with his Ohio connection would be very popular there.

Wells to az would be a blessing indeed! Then one OL, and Defense the rest of the draft

I would love it if we got wells, but a few mock drafts i've seen have the eagles grabing him. But I would love eaither Knowshown, Mccoy, or wells or a solid defensive end player.
