Ok fine not quite everyone. But I hear steven hunter still sends daily thank you cards nashs way.
You do raise a good point though. What will Amar'e be like if he isn't getting amazing passes from Nash? Is Amar'e a player that can "get his own shot"? We'll see. It hasn't worked out so well for Shawn Marion.

I'm surprised that Suns are balking on Beasley because of so called 'character' issues. Wasn't Stoudemire himself tagged with that label before he was drafted?

Wow... very interesting point about Amare... My gut tells me that he will drop off in terms of point production. But then again, if he ends up playing alongside Wade or LeBron, he should have a ton of open looks...

Beasley, Iggy, and Dalembert are playing right now, so certainly no trade with MIA or PHI imminent.

Well if the Cleveland rumors are true, Lebron will make him an even better player then Nash ever could. Not just from a passing perspective but from taking focus away from Amare on every play.

Yeah, because James has such an impressive track record of making his high-paid teammates better. Hang on while I think of several examples ... um, okay, a few ... wait a sec ... hmm, any?

from Stein

"Although the Heat have first-round picks available to sweeten any Stoudemire deal -- with the Suns hoping to come away with at least one first-rounder if they decide to trade Stoudemire this week -- sources say Phoenix has no interest in taking back Jermaine O'Neal's hefty expiring contract because, at $23 million, it requires more players to be worked into the deal than the Suns are comfortable with. Yet one source insisted Monday night that the Suns have not ruled out taking back forward Michael Beasley as part of a Stoudemire deal. The Heat -- after carefully preserving their salary-cap space for months -- are suddenly pushing hard to make a big trade splash now if possible instead of waiting for free agency in July and gambling on the idea that they can lure a marquee name such as LeBron James or Chris Bosh to South Beach to flank Dwyane Wade."

Apparently everyone forgot he had Marbury as his point guard his first year and a half in the league? Here are his stats from those seasons.

MPG FG% 3P% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PP
31.3 0.472 0.200 0.661 3.0 5.7 8.8 1.0 0.8 1.1 2.30 3.28 13.5
36.9 0.475 0.200 0.713 2.9 6.2 9.0 1.4 1.2 1.6 3.22 3.42 20.6

At ESPN, the Heat are now offering:

Mario Chalmers, Daequan Cook, Dorell Wright, Quentin Richardson, and Draft Picks to the Suns...

Sold. The pickS are really the deal. The players I don't care about. Beasley would be icing. That's not to say that I personally would not want Beasley, I certainly would, but this FO doesn't seem to be there with me.

Take this deal. Is there any useable youth/depth in that group of players?

Think about MIA - Alston-Wade-Beasley-Amare-O'Neal

Not bad....

Looks like Chalmers is a good PGOF candidate. Dragic to 2 leaves us with:

Chalmers-Dragic-Clark-#16-Lopez

Barbosa-Dudley-Amundson-#18

I still take Sanders at #16 and Alabi at #18, but if we trade up (say, Barbosa/#16/#18 for a top 8 pick/bench player), then we could get Monroe or Cousins.

We'd be a lottery team next year with another good pick to build on.

Bring this on!!!!

The picks will be, at best, around #17 and #18.

For argument's sake, let's say Beasley would go only 10th in this next year's draft. It is unlikely you could trade the two MIA picks for the 10th pick. Thus, it would be better to take Beasley and no picks.

I would hold out for Beasley and one 2010 pick. The going rate for an all-star is something like expirings + #5 pick. Miami's picks are not good enough, alone, IMO.

I believe Amare will get his points wherever he plays, i agree that Nash helps a lot but Amare is no Lopez.

Amare for Beasley/Chalmers/QRich/lower of their picks?

I suppose you are correct in your assessment. That said, I take that above deal as is over any other deal I have heard. Unless we could get the PHI pick, then I have not seen a better deal....

Let him walk in the summer. The damage to the franchise's reputation would be the smallest this way.

Vomit. None of those players is worth a crap, and the draft picks will be weak.

This. Take it from someone who lives in Miami and hears the fan base on a day to day basis. Chalmers and Wright are 8th and 9th players and the draft picks would not be worth a damn.

Even if the Suns think Beasley is a total bust, you HAVE to have him in any package, because the upside is there opposed to the hot garbage listed in that trade.

Mo Williams, Delonte West, Anderson Varejo, Jason Kapono, Boobie Gibson, etc.

He makes players around him better. Thats indisputable. The players listed above wouldn't see the light of day on most teams.

I don't know how you could be so down on Chalmers. He averaged like 10/5 as a rookie and he still holds a 2:1 points:assists ratio on lesser minutes. If he could produce like that on a Riley team with Wade controlling the ball, then he'd probably produce A LOT more in our system when he would control the ball.

Frankly, I don't know anything about the guy, but I am speculating....

ESPN mentioned only Cook is on the books after this year, although Chalmers is on a team-option. I REALLY like Chalmers and his ability to defend (decent 3PT shooter as well)!

Chalmers could compete for Dragic in a few years as the starting PG but he only has 1 more year on his deal...

I haven't seen Larry Sanders this year but I like Ekpe Udoh: Baylor F/C, although Sanders seems to have improved a lot.

Uhh, Mo williams blossomed in Milwaukee, Jason kapono had his best year in miami, he actually didnt do crap in Cleavland and delonte west had his two best years in boston. No offense but that was some terrible research you did there before you decided to drop those names.

I listened to the radio at lunch today, and both Bickley and Gambo said that reports out of Miami are that they offered Beasely, Q. Rich, filler, and both picks. Personally I'd rather have Haslem than Q, but I wouldn't give up a pick to get him. IMO, the Suns should move on this deal. While, Beasley is not desirable for the Suns, he can potentially be moved for someone they do want.
It's possible that teams missing out on the John Wall lotto would rather have a proven player in Beasley than to take a flier on one of the unproven forwards in the draft. I would think that Beasely and one of the picks would be enough to move us up into the range to nab one of the coveted power forwards depending on the team.

I just know that the aforementioned package is way more desirable than Hickson and the #30 pick.
