Michael Pittman has been arrested on domestic violence charges again.

Pittman allegedly rammed his Hummer into his wife's Mercedes with his wife and young son inside. Michael Pittman wanted to take his son to Tampa Bay to be with him for Mini-Camp and Melissa Pittman objected. She left with their son and that is when the incident took place.

When will it end for Pittman? He will definately be facing significant jail time and a league suspension.

This is a shame. He needs serious help.

Not to diminish the seriousness of Pitmann's situation, but could Tampa be a place we trade Thomas Jones to?

That would certainly be a strange turn of events.

What a loser.

I think wife beaters/domestic abusers are the lowest scum on the planet.

Back when the Pittman / Kidd stuff happened a few years ago I thought about buying a bunch of "wife beater" type shirts and spray painting #32 on them. Maybe I should have :)

I'll ask again, do you think that Tampa would be interested in trading for Thomas Jones?

Of course, we will have to see how this Pittman situation works itself out but if the charges are true, he will be in the slammer for a while and the NFL will definately suspend him.

Ex-Card arrested on assault charges in Ahwatukee
Senta Scarborough
The Arizona Republic
May. 31, 2003 11:10 PM

Former Arizona Cardinal Michael Pittman was handcuffed and hauled off to jail Saturday after he rammed his Hummer into his wife's Mercedes in their upscale Ahwatukee Foothills community after arguing over their son, police said.

Phoenix police said Pittman, a star player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2003 Super Bowl, was charged with six felony counts.

Phoenix police Lt. Frank Milstead said Pittman rammed the car carrying his wife, Melissa, their son, Mycah, and his baby-sitter, Kristina Hegland, as they tried to leave the gated community of Whistling Rock about 4 p.m. No one was hurt in the crash.

Milstead said the couple argued over whether Pittman could take the 2-year-old son for spring training.

"His wife was adamant that he should not take their son with him. He told her he paid for everything and told her to leave," he said. "She says, 'Hey, let's go back to the house and talk about it,' " Milstead said. "When she starts to move, he rams the car."

Pittman, 27, who is on probation for a domestic violence incident involving his wife, was booked into the Madison Street Jail on three counts of aggravated assault and three of reckless endangerment.

He was arrested twice on domestic violence charges in the summer of 2001 and was released by the Cardinals.

I used to be a huge Pttman fan, I even gave him the benifit of the doubt the first time around!

But this is rediculous! He needs to get control of his life/emotions!

Time to get her out of his life and try to lead a GOOD respectable life....

He will have plenty of time to think about it in jail.

No, it's time for him to spend some time in jail.

He now has been given 3 chances.....Once in college, and twice with his wife. He needs to learn the hard way since he has gotten off pretty much the past 3 times.

He had two incidents in college. One, he slammed a girls head against a car seat. His second one in college was the most serious, he knocked a girl against a wall, or something like a bench, I don't remember exactly.

I too came to Pittmans defense last time around. I did so mostly because while there was a screaming match the only actual violence was perpetrated against an inanimate object and a man who was sleeping with his wife, not against his wife directly. What he did the first time was stupid but an understandable reaction to the situation.

That being said, this time is totally inexcusable. He put his wife and both of his children in GREAT danger, and in direct danged by ramming his car into hers. I don't care is she was at a dead stop and he hit her doing 2 miles per hour. This is unforgivable, and I imagine he very well may spend some time in jail

That would be a strange twist. I read on kffl before this incident that the Bucs were thinking about adding Terry Kirby from the Radiers. Obvioulsy, Kirby has a history with Gruden.

I wonder if these events with Pittman might make the Cards hold on to Jones to see what transpires in the Pittman case. The Bucs could secure Jones by trading a low round pick. If they wait until the Cards cut him, then they could be in a bidding war with other teams.

This of course all hinges on the Bucs interest, if any, in Jones. Remember, Jones impressed Gruden in that 2001 upset of the Radiers at the Net.

But he placed his infant child in the sliding glass doors' broken glass to do so..... It wasn't excusable to me then, and is even worse now. Assault with a Hummer should carry some sort of silly punishment though :)

I think it was a steering wheel and a bench in those college incidents.

My question: Where are all the Pittman apologists now? In the past, when I ripped on Pittman and said he needed help - many tried to make light of his incidents with his wife, including charging through a glass door (endangering his infant son). Maybe this new incident will shut the apologists up? I hope so. The guy has a history of abusing women and putting his own son's life in danger. He needs serious mental help and some imprisonment.

As it stands...Pittman is a loser.

Well they've got to be trippin right about now. They just lost thier starting RB at a time when there are no other options available. IMO TJ's stock just went way up. He's the ONLY guy available who has starting potential.

He was never great, but he did show flashes, and who knows, maybe they view TJ the same way they did Pitt...a decent back on a bad team.

I hope Pittman gets both punishment and the help he obviously needs (this goes beyond some anger management classes...).

But...keep in mind...this is the NFL.

Leonard Little killed a woman, spent 3 months in jail, got suspended for 4 games and got a SB ring.

I wasn't on the board for Pitt's last incident, but I said it then, and I'll say it now; This is classic "roid-rage". He will never be able to control his temper until he gets off the "juice"!

He needs to spend some serious time in the cooler for this one. He didn't just assult his wife, he went after his kids too!

But for his celebrity Pittman would have been incarcerated by now. Anyone who would hit another vehicle, regardless of the speed or intensity, with such young children inside is a danger not only to him self but the community at large. Shaking a 6 month old, not to mention a 2 year old, can cause death or paralysis. I hope the DA's office out there wakes up to the reality of his actions and proceeds on the felony counts and a Judge has the gumption to send him to DOC for his own good.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Michael Pittman is a worthless human being. And the people who defend him aren't much better.

The leopard can't change its spots. These incidents just seem to keep happening. I guess someone has to die before this guy spends some time behind bars, where he belongs.
