That's a shocker, no really, I'm shocked with zero sarcasm. Keim doesn't mind playing hardball at all, love that guy.

comments from a Bucs site;
Jenkins is not a premier corner, but the former first-round pick is a capable run defender and would be a smart, experienced addition to the young guns the Buccaneers already have at the position. Allowing him the chance to compete with Johnthan Banks for the second corner spot, and adding depth (and pushing the disappointing Leonard Johnson down the depth chart one spot) would help round out a defense that will look much different than it did last year.

another site:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers still want to upgrade their cornerback depth, as they're bringing in cornerback Mike Jenkins for a visit, according to Rand Getlin. The former USF product has been mediocre throughout his NFL career, once again grading negatively last season, per Pro Football Focus' measure -- although the relevance of those grades for defensive backs remains heavily in doubt.

Would change the outcome of our first round pick. If we don't sign Cromartie or Jenkins, and unless someone drops (Barr, Lewan, etc) far to 20 that is unforeseen, think CB from MSU is the pick.

I hope he does leave without a contract. The guy sucks, plain and simple.

Well, at any rate, I guess being signed doesn't necessarily mean opening day roster. We'll see.

Keim promised if 1st FA didn't take an offer, he'd move on. Cromartie to Jenkins fits. http://bit.ly/1cVXsMN

This, that is a direct move and not just a warning shot by Keim. Personally, I like Jenkins a lot more than Cro. Cro does not tackle and Powers was a better CB last season in my opinion :)

He had his share of problems with the Cowboys but had a solid season last year with the Raiders.

Jenkins is alot more physical then Crow, in fact both of the Cromarties are SOFT!! and Jenkins has rare speed

We could do worse. Right now McCann and Bethel are our backup CBs.

That's a very good point. I guess I was looking at the competition coming from the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft, and I was forgetting who was on the roster.

Except draft a lot better than years past, no Denny... Whis would have not had the talent to take us to the Super Bowl :)

DG had one really good draft. The rest were garbage.

Hence my statement is still correct, no Denny and no talent to reach the Super Bowl. In addition, no Denny and no Warner. My point, he did do something for us

He did a lot worse for the Cardinals organization than he did good for it.

This I don't agree with. The team talent level increased dramatically with Green at the helm. We still weren't good, but we weren't nearly as bad. Remember we used to field teams with guys like Fred Wakefield as starters. I look at the Green era as the turning point for the franchise. We went after a winner coach and took a huge leap forward with the coach after Green. Two playoff years in a row, once we make the Superbowl, the other we make it to the second round. After that, coaching and organizational hubris and bad contracts caused us to regress badly, but we still had a core of good players that was ready to take a step up when we hired Arians and promoted Keim, especially after they successfully, if only temporarily, addressed our greatest need, QB.

Wait he played for the Raiders? He's as good as signed.

The Raiders are taking over as the Steelers for us.

Palmer, Shaunessey, Veldheer...except I like the guys we are getting from the Raiders a lot better than the guys we used to get from the Steelers.

With all that talent, DG's teams may not have been the worst in te league. they only lost to the worst team in the league every year.
