he's also handicapped by the fact that he can't coach offense to save his life.

He's actually evolved into a pretty good offensive coach. His offensive efficiency ratings have been amongst the top in the entire NCAA. The problem is he's not recruiting players who want to play on the other end. Ranking in the 90s in KenPom on defense is not a recipe for success for Sean. Using your example, that'd be like D'Antoni averaging 93ppg scoring. Out of his element.

Highly doubt it. This has been shot down. We went through this two years ago and the Pittsburgh media was so butthurt that it kept trying to push the narrative even though it was a dead story. It's as simple as saying that Arizona is a far superior program to Pitt. If Miller were to leave for that catastrophe, it's because he wants a fresh start, but that might not be the fresh start he wants.

Plus, you think Arizona is a rebuild, Pitt has three scholarship players and only two in-home visits left in this cycle. I highly doubt Miller wants to go from the top in his conference to the bottom with little hope of being successful.

We're never going to know. After Miller publicly refuted that he was a candidate for the job(without refuting he'd talked to the Pitt AD), a report came out 2 years later that said Miller wanted the job but Pitt didn't offer it because the AD refused to stake her career on trusting Miller as the hire.

Then Rothstein reported that Pitt had a special meeting scheduled Friday to discuss the position and it was believed that a large part of the agenda was were they willing to accept Miller as the coach. Then said meeting got cancelled and nobody seems to know why. and now they're moving on, apparently rejected by ironically the Buffalo coach Oats, and now going after UCLA beater St Bonaventure's coach.

It's pretty universally accepted Miller at least talked to Pitt about the job, in California while on a recruiting trip, and apparently with the AD. How far it got beyond that is anybodys guess.

Normally when a coach has a rumor like that it's because they want a raise, I suspect Miller realizes now is the worst time possible for him to expect a raise.

That’s one way to improve recruiting.

It's one of those it's not against the rules but on the heels of what Bland did and the revelation they have at least 3 kids on the current team who took money from agents, you'd think Enfield would at least try to pretend he's going to be clean.

Looks like both brothers to USC and Okongwu appears to now be a UCLA lean.

Supposedly the older Mobley brother might reclass to 18(he's a year old for his class) so he could be at USC next year. Cassius Stanley is still trying to reclass and with UCLA out of rides and USC's status up in the air he might be the latest 5 star to pick Oregon.

And apparently very real chance Brandon Williams winds up at Arizona anyways.

I couldn’t blame him for going to Oregon with the class they have coming in but ASU would be a gut punch.

UCLA gets the same thing with him although the story says it's assistant coach Broussard making the in home which seems odd that it's not Alford.

Gershon is saying it's possible USC gets the Mobley brothers AND Okongwu because they're all good friends.

Alford has two PG’s but you know he’s reveling in the idea of pissing off Miller and you can’t blame him. Same with Hurley.

Atm I would put my money on Oregon. Altman has them on the rise and B-Will is close with Bol.

He's tight with Shareef too which is likely why UCLA is involved. They also think it's possible they'll lose Hands and just have Tyger but nobody really knows.

I don't know how many rides Oregon has but if they get Williams and Stanley they're going to have on paper an incredible recruiting class. I'm not a huge fan of Stanley, better athlete than player, and they might struggle to get all of Bol, Williams, King and Stanley to share the ball, but on paper a great class.

Ironic that Pitt allegedly didn't want Miller b/c of the nonsense, but takes a coach who has two NCAA sanctions under his watch. That narrative can safely be put to rest

Not that it makes any difference but UA is making a run at Jordan Brown? At least Miller is attempting to reach out to these guys I guess.

Kinda hard when the coaching staff consists of two people and there’s no other recruits on board. Miller would need to hit a home run with an assistant hire and get B-Will back on board to build some momentum with Brown. The negative recruiting against UA is at an all time high for recruits and potential assistants. I’m guessing they pick up a grad transfer, regular transfer who would sit out plus a JC guy.

Brown is a very tough cookie to understand too. He's been a kid that everyone thinks wants to stay home, Cal and UCLA were supposedly the choices for awhile. Then Cal fell off so it was UCLA, but he just wouldn't commit. Gershon said that UCLA went to him and said Shareef will commit today, we want you but if you won't commit we're taking him. Brown told them he wanted UCLA but didn't want to commit for another week or so, so they took Shareef.

He likes Nevada and Musselman, his dad is a big fan of Musselman from his days with the Warriors and Kings. He likes St Johns, the whole staff has Bay Area ties, but he still has not committed.

The general feeling is, he wants to be a face up 4 and teams want him to be a post, and he's apprehensive about committing at a big time school. he's a very talented kid but he seems hesitant to commit at the level he's good enough to play at.

he's a very good student so he has options but it just seems like he's very gunshy on committing anywhere.

I much prefer him over Shareef.

If Cohen comes on board as an assistant coach, Brown becomes a real possibility.

So Rivals asked a lot of the players which schools were runners up or their second choice. Little said he was always going to UNC and the FBI situation did the eliminating for him so he didn’t have to consider any other schools...interesting.

Fair, but I don't buy that he was always going to UNC. He was days away from an Arizona visit and then the FBI complaint dropped.

Sounds like it could be Brandon Roy. Not sure what to make of it considering he has no college coaching/recruiting experience but it doesn’t hurt to have an NBA player on the staff. Cohen would’ve been a great hire but that seems unlikely.

Unlike UA, Duke & Coach K will not be impacted.

I posted that story on the regular college board over a week ago and I'm amazed not one single national source picked it up.

Renardo Sidney missed more than a season at MSU because the NCAA decided his dad took 20k as a consultant from Reebok just because he was Sidney's dad, and they didn't believe the family's income explained how they lived so they assumed he took more. Bazz was suspended and was not going to ever clear until the NCAA investigator screwed up and told her boyfriend and he blabbed about it on a plane. In a VERY similar situation Bagley didn't get suspended and per the story the claim is the NCAA never even looked. Why do I think if he'd gone to USC, he'd have never cleared to play?
