UA I read is in on a few grad transfers, any word on them? UA needs bodies as they only return like 5 scholarship players I believe.
Well know more in a few weeks. They have hired one asst coach and will be hiring another in a week or two. Will announce both hires at the same time. Don't know if it's 100% accurate but was told the coach they hired is Cohen. This is not from the guy i know in athletics, so i can't confirm it.

Sounds like Cohen was a long shot from the beginning. They just hired an assistant from Ball State so right now it’s Phelps, Danny Peters and one more to go. Probably has ties to Miller.

I always thought Cohen was a long shot too but the guy who told me he heard it was but he has no contacts. At this point, they just need to get the staff set and hope Williams picks the Cats over Oregon.

More athletic Kyle Fogg?

That type of kid yes, plays hard, defends, not a great shooter but improving. Gershon has been raving about him for months so before it was clear he might go to Arizona. Needs to get stronger. Gershon and Daniels are saying he might have to play some PG at UA depending on who else comes in, hes' NOT a PG but he is a good passer so in a pinch he could play some there.

He's similar to your former recruit now at St Johns, Justin Simon, but probably not as good overall but a better shooter at the same stage than Simon was. Simon's issue at Arizona IMO was he wanted to be a PG, he was recruited as a PG, he was convinced he was one, and he simply wasn't good enough to get any run at PG at that time. When he played the 3 in limited minutes he did ok, but he didn't want to.

So he transferred and surprise, he's a 3 who gets to play some point, exactly IMO how Miller would have used him if he'd stayed put. My guess is Doutrive is smart enough to know he's not a PG.

From what I gather like his brother he was underrecruited because of academics but apparently Devonaire's grades are better, Devonte wound up redshirting at Utah largely to get his academics in order.

The fall back option to Brandon Williams is the UCONN decommit James Akinjo. Obviously, not as highly regarded as Williams but looks like a legit PG.

Scheer said he believes either Williams or Akinjo will be on the team next year. If Miller can get one of them and a transfer forward, this team should finish in the top-5 in the Pac-12. Oregon is clearly the best team but then it's a free for all.

Miles is Wildcat legend but I’m not sure if he’s qualified as a recruiter. He served under Lute but has no ties to Miller.

I think UA end up with Akinjo. Supposedly, UA is in drivers seat after his de-commitment from UCONN. Williams seems to be focusing elsewhere with increasing interest fro other schools.

Scheer believes it's Oregon or UofA for Williams. Akinjo would be a really nice get but Williams would be better.

Akinjo is a scoring PG.

So are Jalen Brunson and Joel Berry. The last two championship PG’s. We need any type of PG that can handle the ball in traffic and push the tempo. The most disappointing thing about PJC is he wasn’t quick and had mediocre handles for a small PG.

Yeah I didn't mean it as an insult just that's what he is, score first. There was some all star game in the bay area that had both him and Tyler Johnson's brother Logan in the game. Akinjo had like 40 plus points in the game. I personally liked Johnson better, was hoping UCLA would get him, but he's going to Cincy where I think he'll wind up a terrific player. Johnson's more athletic, a better defender and a bit more pass oriented, but Akinjo is a much better shooter.

FWIW Brandon Williams is a shoot first PG too, and I'd take him in a second, he's much better than Akinjo but I agree it looks like he's going to wind up at Oregon.
