those same idiots should have made him 3 years in a row..

something your beloved kobe doesn't have a chance in hell of ever accomplishing..
or if kobe was the best player in the game they could of voted for him all three years. in reality dirk should of won over nash last year, but other players could of won it too.

Thats debatable; however, when they interviewed people who vote for the MVP, they said the reason they didn't vote for Nash was only because he wasn't in the echelon of an MJ or Larry Bird deserving of winning the award 3 years in a row, not because Dirk earned it. I bet Dirk was like "gee, thanks" when he received the award

After this year and last, I have discovered that the MVP award is just a joke how it is awarded.

You may disagree with the selection, but if you think that Kobe isn't a deserving winner and that his selection is "a joke" then, sorry, but you are a hater and nothing more.

I thought it was a joke back in 05/06 when Nash won it for the second time. . as did a number of other folks.

How was Nash MVP last year? How? With Amare, Marion, Barbosa, etc. around him? Save the BS, Kobe is a deserving MVP as is Nowitzki as was Nash (the first time, but not so much the 2nd time).

3 rings

Think Nash would trade his two MVP's for those?

I know Dirk would.

No but they were last season when Dirk was voted in......

Atleast Nowitzki has taken his (less talented team) farhter than Nash ever has. . . . give it a break, Nash's 2nd MVP shoulda been Dirk's, so take your two little MVP awards and stop crying about Kobe's, it's well deserved.

If you wanna start crying about Nash's third MVP, why don't we re-do the votes from the 90's and star giving Stockton & Isiah some MVP love.

Well it doesn't matter what you and "other folks" thought. The NBA voters thought he should get it based on his play. At the time there was no talk about not giving it to player X because of how many times they won it before.

That was the point of the above poster when referring to Dirk when voters were interviewed.

Well then, why 13 pages of post if "it doesn't matter" ?
Kobe's the MVP, Nash was MVP Twice, and Nowitzki was MVP last year.

Here's some trivia for you.

Who are the only MVP's never to play in the NBA Finals?

Is a player an MVP BEFORE he gets the award? I say no, only after he gets it is he an MVP. No one knew Dirk as an MVP before he got it because he hadnt earned it. Now, reword the question, who are the only MVP's never to make the finals after getting their MVP. That would put kobe, nash, and dirk all in the same boat, though kobe can change that this year.

I thought it was brilliant...

Sure

But when I look up MVP's, then I look to see which NBA MVP's have never played in the NBA Finals. . only two names pop us

Kevin Garnett & Steve Nash

Those are fact and not technicalities.

Who's the only player to win two MVP's and never play in the NBA Finals?
