Why do other clubs get all their picks signed right away and we don't?

We always seem to wait until most other clubs are done before we sign our guys. If they can get it done we should be able to do so. We don't have any top 10 pick to worry about guaranteed money.

Get them all signed so they are under contract and can start working full time with no worries about injuries or any rule that precludes them from doing things like having a playbook or other things.

I post this every year and still wonder why it isn't done.

we tend to not announce things immediately anyway, may have already signed them. Keim seems busy looking for players still.

Has this been a problem since the new bargaining agreement? Slotted salaries now right?

since the new agreement, we have always had them signed by camp. They do not have to be signed right now.

Wonder if Bullhead is willing to do an avatar bet that we'll sign all of our picks by TC.

No because that will happen for sure. I'm talking about getting them all signed before May 15.

Like I said it's just something that just bugs me because I am proactive person and try to get things done asap so I can move on to other things.

Or maybe he is working other things first since he know the signings are all but done.

Every day that the team can keep $$ to be paid in bonuses in their bank, rather than in the players' banks, it means more $$ and interest for the team. Probably why (Az) lower level picks get signed first. (SF)

And still behind many also. There are clubs who had their entire draft signed over a week ago.

The bears make it a point to sign them all the next day.

Who cares? they all get signed before camp and it is a formality, not a negotiation.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You don't know much about finance or today's economy if you think that anyone can get any return on liquid money like that.

A money market account gets a 1% annualized rate. Even for a $6M rookie bonus pool doesn't earn meaningful money by waiting a month.

Waiting a month would save about $5000 at 1% on a $6m rookie pool. I cannot imagine an NFL team would sacrifice good will with players and agents for $5K. They probably pay that much for one day's lunch at the new cafeteria during mini-camp.
