:) I can see all the posts coming wanting us to trade our entire team for draft picks.

I'd trade every player on our team for a future first round unprotected pick (each) but I wouldn't trade any of them for a pick in this draft. Well, I'd trade the guys that no one on the planet would give us back a decent pick for but that's it.

Ouchie made a good point...Bennett's pretty much Rodney Rodgers. If he ends up as that, guess you could do worse in a terrible draft at the 5th pick.

Chad Ford mock

Cavs – Noel
Magic – Burke
Washington – Porter
Charlotte – McLemore
Phoenix – Oladipo

I saw that but I'm betting Noel, Porter, McLemore and Oladipo go in the top 4.

Hoping for Oladipo. McCallum might be the real sleeper. The young man can score, even against difficult competition. He is not a bad defender. He is just an undersized 2 and not a real pg.

A back court of McCallum and Dragic just seems a little too small to me.

Yeah, I just don't see anyone taking Burke over any of those guys. I could see someone going with Bennett over Oladipo, but that's about it.
Orlando. They need a franchise PG and that's exactly what Burke is.

Also why are people saying the CLE will pick McLemore? Don't they already have Waiters who proved to be a very good pick and was on the All Rookie team?

I think CLE either goes Noel or Porter.

I would love Oladipo but I just know he is going 4th because that is how it always works with the Suns in the draft. We are the unluckiest team. Would you trade up to get him?

Orlando is not going to pass on McLemore to draft Burke- that's just silly. Yes, they need a PG, but they also need a SG, and a SF, PF, and probably a C as well. When you are as bad as they are, you take the best player available.

If we are set on a particular player, I would say yes, trade up and get what you want.

If you think he's going to be a franchise level player, yes. Anything else and I'd say no.

Cleveland won #1 and #3 in the drawing... they re-did the drawing for #3 and Washington moved up..

If we didn't win that meaningless game vs Houston at the end of the season we would have split ping pong ball with Cleveland. -_-
And what makes you think that one of the winning ping pong balls would have been assigned to Phoenix had they lost more games? This is just pure chance. Cleveland had slightly better odds, but it doesn't mean that had the Suns had those odds they would have won the lottery.

The Suns will draft exactly where the odds said they most likely would. And now their great reward for arguably their worst season in franchise history is a 5th overall pick in a weak draft.

Because teams are assigned number cominations based on their odds, if the Suns had the Cavs odds they would have had the winning combination.

Orlando most definitely does not need a center. They are also very happy with Tobias Harris, Mo Harkless and Nicholson.

Afflalo is pretty good too.

PG is by far their biggest need. I am pretty sure Harkless played some shooting guard when he was coming on strong at the end of this season.

Go to their board on realgm they have a poll on who to pick. Burke has like 3x as many votes as McLemore and twice as many as Noel.

Hearing from multiple sources that Mavs likely to trade the No. 13 pick. Want to save cap space for Dwight Howard run ...

Please let us be the team that eats a contract and takes the pick off their hands.

If they want, I'll even take Marion back.

Also from reading Cavs boards it sounds like there is real chance that they could even pick Porter #1 in which case Orlando could pick Noel which would leave Washington with probably Bennett..

Really Slin? That's rich, even for you. Look at a realgm message board poll? You do realize that fans on a rather crappy message board don't actually pick players in the draft, right?

EDIT:
Oh, and you are right- Orlando has Tobias Harris, Mo Harkless and Nicholson, and Affalo? Well then, by all means they should stop looking at SGs- Harris, Harkless, Nickolson, and Affalo- that's a guaranteed championship right there. At least two future hall of famers, and at least one MVP on that list.

By that same logic, I suppose if the Suns won a few more games and had Washington's odds, they would have had the #3 pick.

What I like about the Suns new GM, he is confident the Suns will get a really good player at #5, perhaps as good talent wise as at picks #2 or #3. He admits there may not be a franchise player in the draft. Also he plans to get players with the Suns next two picks with no sense of balling out because they are later in the draft. The impression I get, he intends to do this is my researching all avenues of talent both at home and internationally to exhaustion. I like his confidence as he talks that this is his 11th draft... like he has been there and done that. No cop-outs.

Yeah, I think we can all agree that Noel/Mac/Porter are likely to be gone by the time we pick.

Bobcats have to decide if they like Gerald Henderson, otherwise we should be OK.

Would love Oladipo but if he isn't there Anthony Bennett is certainly not a disappointing consolation.

McDonough's attitude toward the fifth pick is interesting. He basically said that there are a lot of players with similar ability and value at the top of the draft. The teams ahead of us will have some hard decisions to make. We will be ready to respond with the best choice based upon their decisions.

I like that mentality. Its not an all or nothing type of thing.
