I might trade the Bullets pick for Faried but Bledsoe>>>>>Faried.

I recently read an article about Faried being possibly available. He's not an All-Star, but he's a great fit for the team. He's still on his rookie contract though so it's tough to equalize value for him, but for sh!ts and giggles, who would say no to Bledsoe for Faried + NYK's draft pick?

I don't actually think Denver wants/needs another undersized combo PG/SG with Lawson/Foye but I'm sure they'd think about it.

I would say no to that. Denver would need to sweeten that deal. Faried is undersized and I don't think he's been as effective this year as he was last year (in all fairness, I've only seen 5-6 Nuggets' games).

I think we'd be able to get more for Bledsoe.

Anyway...

Bledsoe is a FREE AGENT. You can't do much of a trade for him.

Bledsoe is a restricted free agent and as such, the Suns might be able to do a sign-and-trade with him if they were willing to match a contract offer. It could be similar to the Joe Johnson scenario.

I'll give you Morris, but that's ridiculous about Randolph. You can't be a single-issue voter. Frye has obvious weaknesses, which we hardly need to get into, but he's a better player than Randolph.
This goes to the concept of BPA vs. filling the needs of each position. I believe that, with the exception of short spurts of small ball, it would help the team more to have Plumlee play 36 minutes and Randolph 12 at Center than slide Frye, then Markeiff, to Center.

I believe it would make us more competitive if we make the playoffs. Frye and Markieff playing 2/3 of the game at Center would not.

Certainly, when you face the same team for 4 to 7 consecutive games, it is a whole new ball game. Solid play at the power positions beats one-dimensional specialists.

Especially when it has been clear that Frye is simply worn out, even in popping from 3-point land.

Exactly, and what did we get in that deal for our All Star guard?

Boris Diaw and two fairly well protected future first round picks. Diaw ended up disappointing us but he was a highly talented 23 year old and for awhile there it looked like the trade was a steal for us. A short while.

If the Hawks didn't win the lottery in 2007, we would have gotten a guy who was a Most Improved Player Of The Year winner who helped take us to the WCF and the fourth pick in a really good draft.

man...can you imagine if the Hawks had stayed at the 4th pick. Reports were that we loved Noah. The Nash/Richardson/Hill/Amare/Noah team with Dragic, Dudley, Frye and Admonson off the bench would have been pretty damn good.

this really was the draft screwing us again.. There's all sorts of bad luck and poor draft decisions that kill me to think about, but that one is especially tough. At the time I would have preferred Horford given the choice, but I remember that the Phoenix Suns front office loved Noah. I have no doubts that we have a championship or two with Noah. He's probably my favorite non-Phoenix Suns player.

I also loved Boris Diaw. I just wish someone could have convinced him to A) put down the French pastries and B) take some contact like a man instead of being such a ***** around the basket. He was seriously underrated as a post defender and he could post up even larger defenders. I would love to have him on the team now. He's been great for San Antonio.

If Diaw plays that Game 5 against the Spurs (and he should have...he ran back to the bench like the proper Frenchmen he was during the altercation in Game 4), we win that freaking game.

Amare's dumb as definitely deserved to be suspended, but Doris reacted and immediately fled the scene.

hate that entire three week period. we lost the Spurs series in just awful fashion and then we didn't get a lotto pick in a loaded draft. that was awful.

Not sure if Noah was going to be our guy. Kerr was on board but Dumbtoni was still here and DA won the Thibs assistant battle that off season. Sadly would not have mattered that season anyways, I doubt DA would even play Noah now on the Lakers let alone that team because he doesn't jack 3's.

you're right...DA probably would have forced them to take Yi Jilian!

Man how sick it would be to make the playoff's and if we somehow beat the spurs in round 1 I would be laughing my ass off. Another big game tonight for the suns vs New Orleans

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. One improbable thing at a time.

Popovich must have at least consider which team is the lesser threat; Dallas, Memphis or Phoenix. If and when he decides to rest his starters to finish the season will be telling of who he would rather face in the PO.

Somehow, i don't think he will be looking forward to playing the Suns or Grizzlies..

I really don't think Pop fears a match-up of the most experienced team in the playoffs playing the least experienced team playoffs...or facing a Memphis team who they swept last year. Probably doesn't fear that tissue paper soft D in Dallas either.

if he's resting guys, it's probably because he wants his team fresh much more so then it being an indicator of who he'd rather face in the playoffs.

Suns are 29-14 with Bledsoe, 17-17 without. They also seem to be improving with Bledsoe in the lineup. I do believe the keys to this are his perimeter defense and the pressure it takes off of Goran. For some reason Plumlee seems much more engaged with Eric in the game. Goran has more energy at the end of games.

That "with Bledsoe" winning percentage puts the Suns nearly level with Miami, Indiana, and Houston, and behind only San Antonio, OKC, and the Clippers. With Miami and Indiana playing much easier schedules in the East, you could make the argument for the Suns being a top 4-5 team in the league. Of course, every team faces injuries, so its only academic.

That said, having an extended first round series, even an upset, is not outside the realm of possibility. Fun year.

But the discussion is about which team he would rest his starters against, which will be a factor regarding our Suns.

Unless he rests them against all three teams which, of course, is not going to happen. Would he rest just one of his key players per game?

I think it's safe to say he'll do whatever he thinks is best for his team. I doubt that will include concern over possible postseason opponent as so much of that would be out of his control and any actions he took could backfire anyway. We just need to win our games and it won't matter anyhow. The game against Memphis will probably decide whether we're in the lottery or the playoffs.

yup. it's at home, so we've got a shot, but that team freaking owns us and is a matchup nightmare.

The real thorn in the Suns side is to play San Antonio and Dallas back-to-back on the road.
