38-35 Awbin. Oregon has the better coach IMO, but I don't think they can't contain Newton. I could see Oregon winning this game though.

This game will come down to whether Auburn has schemed and conditioned properly to defend the Ducks' super fast run-run-and-gun. If Nick Fairley and company get gassed---this game is over no matter what Newton does.

I think the Oregon offense is the wave of the future in football---fast and furious with speed hitting you from every angle.

Football is morphing very quickly into a speed game...it's exhilarating and extremely difficult to defend because it forces you to keep your players on the field...you don't have any time to sub---thus, you'd better have your boys in shape and you'd better be able to match speed with speed.

My prediction: Oregon 36 Auburn 20.

Might be true in college Mitch, but, still seems that in the NFL, those pure speed teams are faring to well... The Colts got bounced. The Eagles, gone. Both, beaten by teams who play a more traditional brand of football.
Heck, even the Saints who, maybe not a true "speed" team, but certainly more of an up-temp offense, got beat...

I'm not sure the Oregon way to play will translate to the NFL... the talent across the league on defense, particularly when you get into the post season, just won't allow it. But, I could be wrong too... ;)

I see your points, 82...but...Peyton Manning got his team to the Super Bowl twice in the last few years and he and the personnel looked to be a little on the decline this year.

As for Vick...if the Eagles ran the two-minute with him Oregon fashion with quick sanps left and right...wow...but they don't.

Just saying...coming to a theater near you...this Oregon speed-dial offense will become a rage (more in college for now...but...hey...colleges started opening passing offenses sooner than the NFL did as well)...it's just too exciting and too difficult to defend.

You might be right... however, I really think that in the NFL, the rules committee and the officiating will dictate whether or not the Oregon brand of football takes root.
It's already nearly impossible for a defensive bank to actually defend, so, I guess the NFL is halfway there already in the sense that they are begging for more offense. Guess we'll have to wait and see if they decide to go all in and really change the rules to make it even more of a game that squarely focuses on the offense and minimizes defense even more...

Those Oregon uniforms are horrible, looks like they pissed their pants with the dark gray on the inner legs. Nike needs to fire the Project Runway designers they have.:D

I want the Ducks to win but the SEC doesn't lose many BCS games. People think the conference is all beef & 2 yards & a cloud of dust... the guys on the front 7 defensively in the SEC are usually dominant & faster than their opponents

Cam Newton will be the first the pick in the draft. He should be. Dude is absolutely the bet player coming out this year, IMO.

Newton looks like exactly the kind of QB the Cards need. A guy who can make plays while he's being hit repeatedly.

Not impressed thus far.

He played okay in the first half. So far, doesn't hold a candle to what Vince Young did against USC in the big game a few years ago.

At 6'6 240 pounds that can run and throw long. Who's team doesn't want him. I would like to see him under center. Kolb or Orton or and Cam.
