Nick Fairley was easily the best, most dominant player of the game. Man, he was a TERROR! I had not even considered him at #5, but now I think he has no chance of reaching 5. If he did, we should take him in heartbeat.

Auburn would not have won that game with out Newton.

You can make a case they would not have been playing in that game without Newton but he was very average tonight...that defense was awesome, the QB was pretty irrelevant.

Yeah he's a real beast. He's the best DL I've seen all year I said that awhile ago but he really reinforced that tonight, he's so quick off the ball.

We'd find a way to use him for sure if we could pick him.

He had little chance of going 5 before this game. I thought he was going to Denver.

Now there's no chance, he might go to Carolina @ #1. Dude made himself some money

Newton looked very average. Not worth a top 5 pick. Spread QB with a 1 read or run offense.

Nah not really. He is WAY to much of a project. Dont want him. No matter how sexy Russ thinks he is.

Newton would make a great TE in the NFL.

Farely is a BEAST! Wil he be around when we pick at #5?? ;)

Dyer - a Freshman - is a STUD!

I like Fairley. But problem is there are just to many holes on this team to take another DT at #5..We NEED a pass rusher in the worst possible way.

Agreed..... I am a huge Newton guy but he really didn't impress me at all.

In fact, he made some throws that showed more about how much work he needs. That throw on the goal line that went into the ground was horrible. And although his arm strength is amazing, I think #5 might be too much for a kid with his coaching needs.

But hey..... The kid is a talent, and the combine will probably make his stock rise.

Wonder what he will score on the wonderlic.

Now for Nick Fairley.... DAMN!!! That kid is a MONSTER.

I just couldn't see taking a DT at #5 after drafting Williams only last year, but I think Fairley is so dominant you take him and run more 4-3 looks if you have to.

But, it's a moot point. No chance he is there for us, unless he does drugs or something stupid like that.

Its not a problem as he will be long gone by 5 now.

I'm not really so sure. A lot can a happen between now and the draft. Probably right but by no means a lock.

Newton may turn out to be an average or solid QB. The great QB's of all time are pocket passers not athletes playing QB. I can't think of 1 guy that has lead his team to an NFL title who's a better runner than a passer. The injury factor is another consideration with all the $$$ he will make. Another telling sign of Newton's inability IMO to be a great QB in the NFL is he always seems to throw the ball on a line & rarely floats the ball which shows his lack of touch.

If the Cards are stupid enough to draft him they better hire his sidekick Gus Malzon to be the OC because he knows what he can/can't do & knows that O inside & out.

Aldon Smith fits in to our needs better, we could make him into a true monster 3-4 OLB.

3rd round baby, new monster backer.

Yay! With all the "no way on Cam" talk, I think we might actually get him. Whiz is the man again, I know he loves the shotgun hand off. Larry loves him some Cam, and was in the building, probably telling Whiz we have a chance to get him now.
If yall can diss, I can dream.:)
