They're not benching Peyton Manning, but it's like anointing Jeff George the starter. Anderson has never done anything to show anyone in the NFL that he's anything more than an inaccurate quarterback with below average decision making and accuracy.

Leinart's at least got some potential, and his struggles were more a consequence of the offensive line's horrific play than his ability to get the ball there. If the team was starting Marc Bulger this week instead of Anderson, I don't imagine that there'd be this kind of backlash. But Anderson has looked atrocious, by all accounts.

Look, I'm not saying that I am happy that DA is our qb by any stretch of the imagination, but the claims that this is personal or some sort of conspiracy by Whis is somewhere beyond stupid.

I think we can all agree that Whis is not in the business of handing people jobs, and his primary focus is competition and winning. If he's come to the conclusion that Leinart isn't a starting NFL qb, well, I'll take his judgment on it. Frankly it's shocking that people continue to defend Matt so vociferously. Are we all down because he isn't who we thought he could be, a "gift from heaven"? OF COURSE!!! But hoping and wishing he'll turn into USC Matty won't make it so.

I'm sure everyone, from the front office to Whis, to everyone on down is pissed off about it. Unfortunately, hoping that Matt would be a competent starter hasn't worked and putting all our eggs in that basket has been a mistake. I'm definitely disappointed we didn't make a move to try and get a McNabb or Campbell. Sadly, we'll be an also ran just like every team without a great qb.

FWIW, I saw a chart on ESPN today and Leinart has a 90+ QB rating this preseason, and Anderson has a 50+ QB rating. The media keeps showing Leinart's bad throws when covering this story, but he has made some good ones. I am hoping he gets going with more time in the game by playing second.

In Vince We Trust.

I don't remember Vince Tobin receiving the God-like status that Whisenhunt has been given by some fans. Vince was a great coach, who got the most out of what he had. He didnt inherit the treasure chest that Ken did. What is puzzling is that some fans can't even fathom the thought of critiquing Whisenhunt. Many, many, head coaches have failed following Super Bowls. Mark it down, 2010 is the beginning of the end for Ken Whisenhunt in Arizona. Not that he hasn't made multiple mistakes before, like drafting Levi Brown, platooning QBs, sitting Edge leading up to the playoffs, and driving away quite possibly the most popular player in franchise history. But the flaws in Mr Arrogant will finally be visible, even to the blind. First the media will pounce, then the fans. Ken will no longer be able to hide behind Denny Green's stellar drafts or the Super Bowl appearance once the Derek the Destroyer season is in full swing. Is it just possible that maybe Ken arrived at the right time, when the talent finally clicked? Whisenhunt didn't invent the pass happy offense we saw from Warner that is for sure. Warner basically was calling his own plays. We all know that. Actually, Ken has been mediocre at best calling plays since he has been here. Guess what Ken, when a team loses, the QB faces the firing squad. Guess who is next in line Ken? You may want to think twice about playing your caddy mind games before you expose yourself. Go ask Mike Nolan how trashing Alex Smith publicly worked out for him. When week 8 rolls around and Derek Anderson is your guy and the reality of the season sets in, it will be Ken's fault, no one elses. So go start Anderson, and give Hightower a bunch of reps if you really have to. But remember that you will be the target, not Leinart, once it all starts for real. If Ken is a great coach, like the grumpy ass in New England, I guess the Cards will win the division. Anything less should be pinned directly on Whisenhunt. Question is will you guys hold him accountable? Of course not.

Its not just about QB rating. Whiz specifically stated things he was looking for from Matt starting against the Texans:

Wow!

Mr. Beige :bang:

He did put together an exciting, solid football team that exploded very quickly, led by Jekyl & Hyde #16. I remember crying in Texas Stadium the day we beat the Cowpies, though I did have 1 helluva a hangover after celebrating in the parking lot screaming at their loser fans.

Did you proceed to give him a free pass for the next decade because he was able to do what no coach in AZ accomplished before him?

Explain why Tobin was a bad coach. I am interested.

I think this speaks for itself:

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/TobiVi0.htm

An average of 5 wins a seasons. a 39% winning %. Yeah he was just fantastic.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Compared to this:

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/coaches/WhisKe0.htm

Notice the part under the much better overall record that says 2 division championships and a conference championship. Notice how each year got better not inconsistent and worse.

Tobin could only dream of accomplishing what Whiz has done. You comparing the two is a complete joke IMO.

I'm sure you have an interesting point, but can you break it out into paragraphs? Dang, that is painful to read.

Hell no!!! I will never forget the ass whipping the Cards were handed in Dallas before Tobin was fired. That team had had enough & simply quit on the HC.

And I'll never forget screaming bloody murder at the TV to punch it in instead of kneeling on the ball to end the 98 playoff game. Should have been 27-7

I belive the next time we played they beat us 44-7 and I got pissed about it all over again.

I like Whiz. I like the guy because he takes chances. He knew at times he didn't have the best team on the field, but found a way to win. He's into the game from the start to the end and he has a plan.

He's not perfect, though. He's made some mistakes. I don't idolize the guy, but I think he's a good coach. The star players leaving the team are primarliy due to the success. Nobody thought Rolle was that great when his team was 6-10.

Whiz has been a complete disaster this season. He'll be gone in two or three years after he's had enough time to completely destroy this team. Bank on it.

It will be an interesting off-season. If Whiz doesn't get new coordinators, I sense failure (don't know how much will be on Whiz versus Graves...but the result will be the same).

If we get new coordinators and they have the ability, then it comes down to whether Whiz allows them to succeed, and it will be easier to judge his abilities as a HC.

Sorry, but I'm just not that enamored with Whisenhunt as most seem to be. I'm so tired of hearing "in whiz we trust". That ***** is starting to wear on me. It is so effin silly to hear people justify every little thing he does with... "well he knows more than you about football". Obviously he does, but that doesn't mean he is without faults. Every single player stare down he has had he has lost. Boldin, Duece, Matt, Edge and you can even say he lost the battle with Big Ben. Yes it seemed right to get behind him in that battle, but Ben is looking more and more right every time you see what Whiz is doing to Matt.

Boldin and the FO were having their battle and Whiz had to open his effin mouth and basically contaminate the waters to the point of no return.

Edge was a pro's pro but unspectacular, what does Whiz do? He benches him until he realized he screwed up and had to rely on the guy to get the run game out of the toilet.

As for Matt, it has been PROVEN that once this guy is given the reigns unconditionally he has won and yet our genius comes in and immediately starts effin with his head.

Year four and we are still shuffling the Oline and like his predecessor.. he is playing a potential stud of a guard at freaking tackle. He has come up short in FA every year he has been here. No impact players brought in nor any top players retained. Run game is still an issue so he drafts a stud and what does he do? He continually makes the guy second fiddle to a guy he clearly outplayed. Our best Olineman... he trashed him in the media and has him playing the fourth quarter of a meaningless preseason game out of spite and despite the fact that he is outplaying yet another ex-Steelers reject.

Signs an ex-Steelers corner only to trade him back to the steelers a year later all while leaving a gaping hole in the secondary.

Coach is an ex- tight end and yet he can't seem to find a decent one to save his life.

Whiz rode the coattails of a Hall of Fame QB, Hall of Fame WR, a stud WR, a potential hall of fame Safety, and some very good players... none of which he brought in.

Penalties and dumb mental errors, poor clock and game management, suspect gameplans and curious playcalling all still persist and yet we should be happy because we won a weak division.

There's a reason he didn't get the Steelers job and each year it's becoming more and more clear.

Could not agree more...!!!

Check the wins and losses. All I need to trust the Whiz.

You're a LEMMINGS, a DRINKER OF COOL AID and mostly a , JUST SAY NO type of person...!!!

Whiz is a horrible coach. He has his favorites, noticeably any one who has ever played for the Steelers. Cut or trade away and let go Pro-Bowl type players; Q, Dansby, Rolle, DRC, Steve Breston. Screwed over Matt L., took Levi Brown in Draft over Adrian Peterson. et al.

:bang: :mulli:  :(
