The last time the Cardinals played Rodgers the Cardinals were a team on the rise. Unfortunately, that game against Rodgers was the beginning of the Most Recent Dark Age for the Cardinals. Although it was more AJ Green not running his pattern than Rodgers which caused that loss.
I was talking about this exact scenario with Linder during the game last week and it mentioned that the last time the Cards had one 2 in a row was in 2021 and pointed out it was this game against GB. She wondered how I could remember something like that, lol.

It would be great to win Sunday, but no matter what, we will be in first place in the West. First place more than halfway through the season.

Who would have thunk it???
I agree- it’s not the most critical win this season. But I think this is the game that grabs the nfls attention. If we win by beating down Aaron Rodgers, for two weeks we will be the media darling

If we lose- we will continue to be disrespected (with good reason)

Simple incredible, given our pathetic front 7.
Based on performance, shouldn't we stop using the term pathetic, and change it to say, overachieving? You cant string together numbers like they have been doing and STILL be referred to as pathetic. Though, that would mean we may have to change the narrative that MO crapped the bed in FA....

Lets see what happens this week, but if they hold up, will you put that "pathetic" narrative to bed?

I'll grant them overachieving status, as they are very much overachieving. The players, who lack any real talent, are motivated and working their butts off, and sticking to the scheme that Rallis has them implementing. Rallis is the real star of the D.

And, sorry, Monti still crapped the bed in FO. Can you imagine if we had even a decent edge and a DT who could get consistent push? These aren't the 2 "marquis" DTs he signed doing this, either--they sucked. Rallis is truly making chicken salad out of chicken ish.

But, but, the injuries to Ojulari and DRob! :) j/k but I agree Rallis, probably with some help from JG, is getting a lot of this group. Super duper pleased.

I actually like our chances this Sunday my friend. J-E-T-S run D is poor, and Rogers is a statue standing in concrete.

I think we'll run for 150+ again this week, and the defense will make enough plays to get us another ugly win. 25-16 or something similar.

i think maybe / mostly

my theory heading into the season was (notwithstanding all their public comments) that the FO was still evaluating Kyler -- and preserving cap space in the event they determined he wasnt the guy and they needed to move on.

Once you know you have your QB -- its easier to get aggressive

at least thats my hope this coming offseason

What we know is this, it takes a well conditioned defensive line with DBs in the box to handle our run game.

I like our chances…

It will be very interesting to me if the defense has figured something out or if the Bears game was a one off.

Even if we have figured it out how to get pressure with what we have and win games, Monti's second FA season will still deserved to be questioned. Nichols and Jones were the biggest signings and they are a bust for this year. We can always hope they show up next year and play well, but this year they didn't even in the few games they did get. Jones in particular. Nichols played a little better in his last two games.

Mack Wilson and Evan Brown have been okay signings. Brown is the best FA of this class IMO.

Rome wasn't built in a day. MO has at least built a competitive roster. This was never a two year rebuild. A modest gain this year should get the owner to open up the pocketbook and build a team that can compete for a championship. I hope...

Can't or shouldn't blame Monti for injuries of Jones, Nichols, and Williams. None had a history of injuries.

Nah, you can't blame him for the injuries. And Jonah Williams looked great in the two or three drives he played in. But Jones and Nichols did not play well. LJ Collier and Ben Stille have shown more than those two.

I just have a feeling Rodgers is going to slice up our defense similar to the packers game and we are going see ultra conservative Petz stick to the plan until wayyyy too late
