I think your Holiday vs. Bridges argument is a good one, and a logical one. I think it comes down to how valuable someone thinks Bridges is going to be, and how soon we want the Suns to be in the playoff hunt. Suns would be MUCH better with Holiday and no Bridges next year, especially if Oubre is back. They would probably be better the year after as well. It's about at that point that I think Bridges will bypass Holiday.

Agreed - they won't give Holiday away, and Bridges appears to be a great fit for the NBA moving forward.

I think the Suns are in a spot where they need to start making progress, and pretty drastic progress or Booker will be even more unhappy. (and could make noise about asking out of town) I don't think a Randle/Rubio offseason will be enough to move the needle, and I'm pessimistic Sarver is going to continue to be patient with the now 10 year plan. (worked about as well for the Soviets!)

Considering the players available in FA/trade, now would appear to be as good a time as any to make a splash. Whether James Jones and the FO has the skill to pull it off is the million dollar question.

That's like saying, we will give you X for that Big Mac you got there. Wait! Why do I have to take a peice of poop on the same plate? I am trading you something good for it!
I thought McDonald's puts a piece of poop on every 'plate'.

I prefer char-broiled . . . and poop-less. :)

I just read Bleacher Report saying we have a priority on signing Oubre. Supposedly we want Dinwiddie and possibly Tobias Harris. Plus Gambo said previously we were interested in Julius Randle. We can kind of see what they are rumored to be interested in.

Gambo was saying we were interested in Harris 2 months ago. Also he has said we are interested in Dinwiddie, but did not think he would be available.

Maybe it's recycled news, but I think it was just a brand new bleacher report article mentioning those three I read yesterday. It was on Apple News service on the iphone. I was wondering about Harris, too. WOndering if James Jones has Randle higher rated?

The rumor that seems to be gaining legs is Dinwiddie, Nets pick at 17, and Musa for the 6th pick, plus (one would assume) whatever contract is necessary to balance trade. If that is true, I would do that in a heartbeat.

Yeah, it would not be too bad a deal I guess. I think I would prefer Garland but, he will probably go to the Lakers at 4.

I don't understand people dogging Musa - the guy played 39 minutes last year. In the G-League he scored 19.5 PPG, 6 boards, 3 assists, and shot .357 from 3.

If he is included in the deal it is probably more the Suns being interested in him than anything else.

We would not have to trade Warren to make this deal - we have the cap space to absorb it currently I believe. He better not be included in this deal, if he was it is a bad deal for the Suns.

I would prefer Randle I think. I think either would be great though.

Randle is the better rebounder and a bigger body, Harris is the better shooter.

I really see Harris more as a small forward, and against some teams we would still have some matchup issues with more classic PF's.

Re-sign Oubre, trade for Dinwiddie, sign Randle...

That is very do-able... and would be an A+ off-season.

Forgot to add "draft Kabengele and Ponds".

Randle is OK. But I was hoping for a shot-blocker, defensive pf with three-point range. I know it is a lot to ask.

More of an Ibaka kind of player.

An ibaka or Horace Grant (with modern day range) type of player would be ideal.

It's not doable unless we can dump the salaries of Johnson, Warren, and most likely Jackson.

I think that may be much harder than you think.

But if we did pull that off - I would give the suns an A+

I'm beginning to warm up to Ty Jerome PG/SG in the second round. He can pass and shoot.

He will keep defenses honest.

this is not even working under the cap and considering the Suns would either lose 10M$ caproom or have to throw in TJ Warren or Josh Jackson than that is just an absolutely awful trade.

Weak draft or not you don't trade top 7 picks for backup players.

What would be interesting is if you took Coby White at #6, and let's say Ty Jerome at #32, or we bring him in undrafted, you would have rwo 6'5" rookie PGs on your roster. That's a lot of size at the PG position.

I wouldn't mind having one of these two players on the Suns roster. It's intriguing to think about. For some reason I can't get excited about White like I did Shai.

I'd be happy with Jerome in the second round as well although I haven't given up on Okobo or Melton.
I'm simply not sure if they can take the next step forward.

Jerome can shoot in addition to having passing skills so he would spread the court.

Im ready to give up on okobo , he showed absolutely nothing in his first season , at least Melton had a few flashes okobo didn't even play good when he was sent down to the g league

If the Suns do trade for a point guard, I think one of the above will be included. I did expect more from Okobo his first season, especially shooting.

If I was another team, I would want Melton. He played some good defense for a rookie. You can always use that off the bench.

He has some Shaq Harrison in him but he will need to develop the rest of his game.

One season with really limited minutes for okobo and rollercoaster minutes for Melton. While odds are against either of them developing into an eventual starter, cutting them at this juncture seems incredibly short-sighted. They were second round picks, did everyone expect them to be finished products? They’re projects. Even everyone’s wet dream 2nd round pick around here, bell, wasn’t what he was perceived to be immediately. He’s disappointed in his lack of growth. So we don’t know what we potentially have in these guys.

You can see flashes of shooting from Okobo. Melton racked up a bunch of steals in his limited minutes. That's kind of the feel I have of both guys.
