FYI...

@gswscribe: Malcolm Lee is not coming to the Warriors. Minnesota forced GSW to take Lee, then Warriors dumped him off on Phoenix

I actually really liked Malcolm Lee coming out of that draft. He was supposedly one of the best on ball defenders in the draft 2 years ago.

The problem is Malcolm is a streaky shooter and he still wants to be a PG but he's not one. nice kid, plays his butt off, good defender. Also been injured that knee never seemed to heal he reinjured it and had surgery.

Great kid though.

Deshaun Thomas is a beast. Of course, he gets picked by the Spurs, so he'll be a great role player for them.

I know zilch about Oriakhi, but his numbers appear to tell an intriguing story. He played big minutes as a sophomore, but then it looks like he fell in the depth chart and had much less of an impact as a junior. So he transferred from Connecticut to Missouri and had a bounce-back senior year. Who was the Connecticut guy in 2011-12 who took his minutes?

Edit: Ah, Andre Drummond. So there you are.

You've got the wrong guy. He's more like Ilgauskas.

This is just stupid. Ilgauskas could barely move. Len is a former gymnast who is incredibly athletic for his size. But, he's white and tall. Guess that means he's a stiff.

I'm not totally thrilled with the pick but I don't hate it. I have a feeling that Noel is going to be a huge bust unless he can put on some weight and develop an offensive game.

So does this mean PHX doesn't get Goodwin?

We do. We get Goodwin and Malcom Lee. With no trades our crazy roster shakes out like this...

Dragic-Marshall
Goodwin-Tucker-Lee
Dudley-MarcusMorris
MarkieffMorris-Scola-Beasley
Gortat-Len-Frye

DraftExpress says that there's no Suns/Warriors deal. Goodwin goes to the Thunder.

Seriously? Is that a mis-report? Although Suns bungling is a draft day tradition, so it would not surprise.

I'm not thrilled with our draft but why would this be "bungling"?

So what happened to the Suns 29th or 30th pick. It doesn't make sense unless the Suns traded it.

I just asked Seth Pollack and he said he hasn't heard anything of the sort and that Goodwin is ours.

Adam Silver announced that he was traded for Andre Roberson. I don't get it...

So did the Suns agree to take upon another contract to move to #29?

Making a widely reported trade that largely gets good reviews from pundits and the fanbase, and then having it fall through for some reason = bungle + fail.

Though I am assuming that it must be some mistake at the quoted website.

But where was it "reported"? AFAIC, until something like that comes from the organization it's not reported, it's merely speculation. It's hard to blame the organization for the reports that circulate on message boards and the like. Anyway, I suspect it's all moot and Goodwin is ours.

What's so confusing about it?

The Warriors acquired the 29th pick from OKC. Then the Warriors send us the 29th pick and forced us to take on Malcom Lee's contract and we gave them the 30th pick.

The Suns have both Lee and Goodwin. Lee was the price we paid to get one slot higher.
