But where was it "reported"? AFAIC, until something like that comes from the organization it's not reported, it's merely speculation. It's hard to blame the organization for the reports that circulate on message boards and the like. Anyway, I suspect it's all moot and Goodwin is ours.

Steve

Reported by Andy Katz during the draft on ESPN. Also verified from a GS beat reporter, which is where i got the Malcolm Lee stuff.

We do. We get Goodwin and Malcom Lee. With no trades our crazy roster shakes out like this...

Dragic-Marshall
Goodwin-Tucker-Lee
Dudley-MarcusMorris
MarkieffMorris-Scola-Beasley
Gortat-Len-Frye
Nope, Goodwin's seen as PG according to Coro and Hornacek.

So...

Dragic/Goodwin/Marshall
Dudley/Lee
Tucker/Morris/Beasley
Morris/Scola/Frye
Gortat/Len

Its a shame though cause Goodwin would do better at SG...he played poorly at Kentucky cause he was asked to play PG instead of SG.

I think his poor judgement and his poor shooting had a lot to do with it too.

Ryan McD said the trade call has not been done yet so he can't talk about Goodwin.

From DraftExpress:

11:28 OFFICIAL: The Minnesota Timberwolves have traded Andre Roberson (#26) + Malcolm Lee to the Golden State Warriors for a 2014 second round pick and cash considerations. The Warriors will then trade Roberson to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Archie Goodwin (#29).

Yea his poor judgement is why he's better suited as a SG. Their gonna try to make him into a Westbrook though.
I doubt he'll ever play PG, mate despite what Coro says Horny said.
I hope you are right.

Where are you watching McD's interview?

I like the Goodwin pick. He is more likely to brick his way out of the league than to ever be a stud but he has the raw talent to become the latter.

And thats also why I dont like the Len pick. I hope I am wrong but I saw Maryland play several times and never thought I was watching a future NBA impact player. Yes, Noel's health is a huge concern and McLemore is no guarantee, but the Suns are no where near being relevant. They should be swinging for the fences.

Correction: the #Suns are taking on a player in the trade that moved them from No. 30 to No. 29 to get Goodwin. Details shortly. #NBADraft

This is weird. I wonder why DraftExpress has the Thunder/Warriors deal as OFFICIAL if it's not based on something directly from the league office.

Edit: Ah, wait, maybe it's a four-way trade, Wolves/Thunder/Warriors/Suns, and the Suns part just hasn't been added to the official tally yet.

To me he looks like a grossly inferior version of Shannon Brown. Destined to be waived, I would assume.

You determined his fate after one season? At least the Suns should give him a look if he doesn't cost them anything more.

Three down, with a few more years we can assemble ALL of the swing players from the 2011-2012 Timberwolves.

You determined his fate after one season?

That's as long as it took you to determine his promise. 39% is pretty gruesome. Very few players improve their shooting by 7+ points after entering the league, and that's where he'd need to get to have a chance of sticking around.

I am confused as to why the Suns felt the need to move up one spot to get a player they wanted. You rarely ever see teams moving up just a single spot, because that implies that you think that the team one spot ahead of you likes that player and will likely draft that player for themselves, and yet are willing to move down and give him up. Unless some other team wanted Goodwin and wanted to trade with GS to get him.

Either way, talk about the Suns dealin' and wheelin' on draft day. Must have spent the whole day trying to engineer that trade.

THIS is what an athletic big man looks like.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EBRzRctJeY

Not some 7'1 guy with long arms who's dunks have his feet hovering above the ground.

Sorry fellas, you can keep calling Len "athletic" and a gymnast, but there was more WOW athletic plays in 30 seconds of this highlight reel then 5 minutes of Len's.

this pick will haunt the Suns for a decade. I mean...was there even a highlight of Len playing defense against anyone? blocking another big man? making steals?

and I think we'll rue the day on McLemore as well.

ugh...all I'm reading from the Suns is about Len's offensive skills. His touch around the basket, his body control.

WILL THEY EVER FREAKING LEARN THE KIND OF DIFFERENCE A DEFENSIVE DYNAMO MAKES ON A FREAKING TEAM?!

Noel might never be a great offensive player, but he's got defensive difference maker written ALL OVER him.
