The case, as well as the DVD holders. People are reporting badly scratched, even broken in half DVDs, ripped outer boxes, etc.
There has been so much complaint about it, they are thinking about rereleasing it in different packaging.
Wow.

Did it come with a bunch of lame limited edition HP trading cards, HP book marks and a bunch of other stuff I'll never use?
dunno. 5 AAA HDDVDs for $70 is a good deal.
I know. I was being sarcastic about the limited edition stuff from the box set and would have jumped on that deal had you told me about it.
Anyone who is considering buying the blu-ray version of the Blade Runner 5-disc briefcase set will be disappointed--the first 4 discs are blu-ray and are fine, but for some reason, the 5th disc is HD-DVD. Weird, but true. Don't know if the opposite applies to the HD-DVD version.
All I can say is WOW!
I finally bit the bullet and tore out all of my old equipment and cables.
***cough, cough, cough*** talk about a lot of dust!
Then I set up my new Receiver, Series 3 Tivo and HD DVD player. I love HDMI cables. You should see the stack of cables that I replaced with my new setup. The clutter is gone!
It took quite a while to get everything hooked up. Not to mention that my son hid the new HD DVD I got in the mail. I spent an hour frantically trying to find it. Finally I located it in the computer room. I could have killed that little guy.
GALAPAGOS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh MY! It was so worth it! I was floored at how much better my picture looks now that I've got my HD DVD up and running. If you are looking for a good movie to showcase your system, I'd recommend Galapagos! The video is just stunning. So many Vibrant colors. The Reds, Greens and Blues really pop out on my LCD.
I only made it through 30 minutes of Galapagos before I finally turn in for the night. Can't wait to see the rest of it this weekend!
I love High Def!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait for my HD cable to get set up tomorrow. Finally get to watch a Cardinals game in HD!
just wait. You will soon become an HD snob, and not want to watch anything but HD.
I can feel it starting already.
OK which HD DVD should I watch next? What is your favorite?
too late.Oh boy, so subjective.
I really enjoyed Casablanca (Linder cover your ears), Batman Begins, 300, and Transformers.

DCR will tell you that just about any movie is worth the upgrade.Hmmm. I've never seen Casablanca before. I'll have to throw that into my Netflix queue.
Definitely want to get Batman Begins.
I just purchased Transformers last month on DVD. Is it worth the HD DVD upgrade?

Except maybe 28 Days Later...
Linderbee hit it. 28 Days Later has a horrible transfer, tons of artifacts everywhere. I didn't even consider purchasing it when it was available at B1G1 free. Just about all movies are worth the HD transfer, but I won't tell everyone to upgrade every DVD that they own to HD. I won't. It is a matter of preference.
As long as DCR says it. Gotcha.
Word in the industry is that whatever format doesn't win this Christmas, will be gone by next fall. The way these two are neck-in-neck, there's no way to tell just what will be the winner.
Hmm. I wouldn't think that this would happen until NEXT Christmas. It will be interesting.
But they did say the same thing last Christmas, so who really knows?
Word is there will be a HD DVD BOGO at Best Buy next week which includes Bourne and Potter. Good times.
