Sounds like they are retaining several coaches: Kruzcyk, Pendy, Bush, et al.

Didn't hear Solomon's name mentioned...thank God!

Oh My ........ They are retaing alot of assistant coaches

They are retaining the majority of their assistant coaches. To not give a new head coach the opportunity to pick his own staff is really hampering him from the get go. This is a horrible decision !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This decision as well as giving Graves a 3 year extension is going to be cause for this organization to be chastised by the media!!!!!!!! They really have no clue how to get things done !

This is so disappointing. Arrgh...they get a chance to fix something and then they go and handcuff a new coach to someone elses staff.

Extending Graves is a whole new issue in itself. Talk about rewarding mediocrity (or worse)...

Graves mentioned this towards the end of the press conference that he retained many of the coaches, that they will be all evaluated once the new headcoach is hired....

Loney, Pendy, Bush, Kruczek, along w/a cpl others....

The others were Mike Wilson, Larry Brooks, and Rick Courtright

Fortunately, Zauner and Solomon are gone....

The assistant coaches contracts all ran through next season. Do you really think we were going to eat Greens 2.5 Mill and the assistants coaches salaries as well.

I can only hope that what they what they mean is that they have already fired some of the coaches with contracts and will leave the decisions of the rest of the staff up to the new coach. I can hope cant I.

Loney and Kruczek are the only ones...the ONLY ones I'd keep. And Kruczek as QB coach, not necessarily as OC.

No biggie. They will be evaluated when the new coach signs.

Now see thats not really a big deal at all. That just means when they hire the new HC, he will have say on who he wants to retain

Now if they were forcing the new HC to keep assistant coaches thats another matter all together

This was at the end of the press conference. They named Pendergast, Kruczek,
Bush, and 3 or 4 others. Very, very depressing and disappointing. This organization does things ass backwards !!!!!

Okay, whew! Just as long as they are not trying to force them on the new coach.

Of course, any coach who mentions in their interview that they want to keep those assistants may well get the job.

I didnt hear this as I watched it on Point After. Most of their coaches have a year left on their contracts and keeping them around limits other new coaches from interviewing them without our say so. I think a new coach will be able to bring in his own staff and if he wants to keep any of the holdovers, then he can.

With apologies, this is the most bassackwards organization in sports! Did they completely ignore the Raiders coaching search last year? It's very hard to hire a head coach who has no say in assistants.

God this just screams massive mistake.

I suppose if you're going to hire Chow as HC and you're not sure he can lure big assistants, you think keep the assistants you like, put him in place, and maybe get lucky? I can't otherwise understand this at all.

Well thats a relief. Its one thing to keep some guys around who are well thought of to be considered on a new coaches staff and a whole different thing entirely to force a new HC to take on someone elses people.

I did not hear him say that the new coach will evaluate the coaches that were retained. I don't believe that is correct.

Thats actually not ass backwards at all because if you keep certain coaches (Kruzek, Bush, Loney) under contract and allow the new HC to pick and choose who he wants and let the rest go, its quite smart because you know you can keep the coaches. If they fired everybody then you may as well have kissed some of the good coaches we have goodbye (and to make matters worse there isn't a great number of assitants to choose from with the NFL's new rules and only 1 other coaching staff being fired)

If they forced them on the new HC on the other hand that would be ass backwards

That's my feeling as well...they are hoping to get Norm Chow.

If they're retaining them to evaluate for the new HC then its not a big deal at all (which appears to be the case).

Forcing them on the new HC would be the death nail in not being able to get any good HC candidate

Would everyone just take a deep breath and calm down.

What Graves said was that certain coaches didnt have their contracts terminated.

Those coaches would be evaluated by whomever the new coach is.

Hey Evil ....... Out of the 2 scenarios that you brought up above and knowing this organization the way you do, which scenario do you think is most likely to be made by our braintrusts that run this team?
