OT: Question on Kyler Murray's arm strength?

Yes another Kyler Murray thread. It will continue as the Cards have the first pick in the draft and the fact that the Cards may take him is a very hot topic. So get use to it or ignore it.
I watched some of his tape highlights and have some questions on his arm strength. On his long td passes it looks like the Oklahoma WRs were wide open but had to wait for the ball to arrive. That won’t happen in the NFL with top notch CBs. Few of the Big 12 teams could match the talent of Oklahoma and were easily outmanned. Alabama, which always has a tough defense, had a 28 - 0 lead before Murray and Oklahoma did anything.

Many on this board study game tape and are far superior to me on evaluating players. My question really is: does Murray have the arm strength to make all the throws needed in the NFL??

Yeah there are other issues, but you got to have a "pro arm" for sure.

He has a better arm than Manziel, but not as strong as Mahomes (I mean very few QBs have Mahomes' arm talent). I think Kyler is a smaller version of Manziel with a better arm and better speed than Manziel. Far as I know, Kyler has zero drug baggage like Manziel. But now we have people questioning his work ethic and so forth after the Combine interviews. So we'll see how that turns out over time.

I would say it is a very good question. I am one who questions his short to intermediate accuracy/velocity. He throws a great deep ball. He throws it almost as you would a baseball.

This is a reason i wanted to see him throw at the combine. I really haven't seen him throw the ball with a lot of velocity which is a big red flag playing in the NFL where there are much tighter windows to throw through.

Thanks, that is why I asked the question. We have our usual responders that are always flippant because they don't want him which I understand. However, I don't believe the Cards have made a decision on the number one pick. Keim and staff will do their homework and if Murray doesn't have an arm that can make the required throws, well, end of discussion.
They won't take him. His pro day even though scripted will be important to see what kind of arm he has. I just wonder on watching film if there is a good feel for him.

But if no time is given and on the move I see why many like Kyler more than Rosen.

He was a SS in baseball at Oklahoma, that tells me he has a strong arm. Football is obviously a bigger & different shaped ball but still............strongest armed players in the infield are mainly at SS & 3b.
