What a joke that even in this miserable of a season, TJ Warren can't get more than 3 freaking minutes. Short of something like Warren sleeping with Hornacek's wife, there's absolutely no excuse for that.

There's no point in tanking with the experienced idiots who will amount to nothing getting so much playing time.

And please, Kieff is sure "hustling" right? Is that why he gets minutes? Half of the guys on this team don't care...yet Warren's the one that gets punished for it.

I'll take Warren playing half hustle over a scrub like Brandon Knight playing with full effort. Knight is who he is, Warren may actually be something special someday.

Jeff Hornacek may be the worst coach the Suns have ever had. That's right, he may be worse than absolutely nightmares like Terry Porter, Lindsay Hunter etc.

I didn't notice it but if he did what Jeff said he did and if Jeff played him anyway, I'd actually agree with your statement that he was our worst coach ever. I can't think of too many decisions worse than letting someone get away with coasting especially when it's the day after they had a session designed to get players to bring greater intensity every minute they're on the court. It's the only real weapon coaches have, you play hard or you sit.

Goodwin +13

It is funny though, everytime Paul Coro writes something about Goodwin making use of an opportunity and being ready to take advantage, the next thing that happens is that he barely plays at all.

So how are you'all liking this team?

Bledsoe's great isn't he?

Oops. Sorry! He's can't play. Will he ever play a full season?

Missed out on Pau, huh? I thought he was done. All NBA after all the know it all's said he was done. (And that's basically everyone).

I could go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and, on but why?

Phraz (the lover of discourse, ha!), Cheese, Chaz. What a joke.

You all deserve this team!

Suns fans deserve what they have.

Sarver is smarter than his fans! Hard to believe cause he's a fool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Know nothings that know-it-all.

HAhahahahahhahhhah! (BCS excepted, he's pretty smart, but likes big guy too much).

1. Yeah Bledsoe has been great until injury. About twice as great as Goran.

2. Missed out on Pau? You realize that in the meantime Pau Gasol has been a free agent, he was a 6 week rental when we were rumored to have interest.
Do you realize that for the last few years Bulls fans have loathed Pau Gasol? You should maybe check out their message boards. He puts up raw stats and does not play defense.
Based on what we know about Pau it is not very likely that he would have stayed in Phoenix beyond that.

3. Yeah liking this team quite a lot, more so than any team we fielded in the last 6 or 7 years. Booker, Warren, Goodwin, Len are interesting to watch when they play and we are well on our way to finally get a realistic chance at a an allstar caliber talent in the draft. So yeah it is pretty great, the main distraction is Brandon Knight who simply is a shooting guard and not a point guard.

It is funny that you are chosing exactly this thread to post this rant when this was probably one of the best 5 games as a Suns fan in many years. (besides the fact that Warren was put in the doghouse)

Goodwin made some nice plays last night, but he also made some bad decisions with the ball and had a few turnovers in the second half. Love the guy and want to see him play more, but I can also see why he doesn't get a lot of minutes as well.

Hornacek seems a little clueless with how to develop young players.

Or lets say misguided. Not sure if this "hustle for playing time" mantra is working with these young players.

Maybe he should try positive reinforcement with encouragement, instilling confidence, motivation etc instead of this incredible inconsistency of minutes.

Sitting players on the bench might achieve the opposite and reduce their motivation.
Allow the young players some level of self reflection in their bad plays instead of putting them in the doghouse.

That comes with actual game time, constant rotations and minutes.

Goodwin probably doesn't play next time.

I found a couple of interesting tweets by Paul Coro:

The above tweets may help explain why Warren did not play more.

It appears Robert Sarver is not the only one concerned by the hand off pass in the final sequence but I don't see how any good can come from it (exposing the referees).

https://twitter.com/paulcoro

Jeff just said it was only about his energy level, he wasn't hustling enough.

So because players aren't hustling enough???

I mean a non-hustling Warren is 20X better than a hustling Tucker or Markieff.

Tucker played a ton of minutes last night, but lets check the box score.

This is not a way to develop a team and chemistry. Inconsistent rotations are leading to a team losing its identity and chemistry, especially with our younger players/core who are way more talented than our veterans.

Complacency is a cancer. This why tanking teams often end up tanking for years.

I've given up on watching the games and now simply wait for Booker highlights the next morning:

There are some real positives here in this game. For the sake of our sanity, it might help to focus on those some.

1. Devin Booker is the real deal. I love going to opposing message boards just to see the comments about Booker. While Indiana fans are really happy with Myles Turner, they were just drooling over Booker and wishing they had drafted him. Here are just a couple.

"BOOKER!!! He was touted as the best pure shooter in the draft. That last 3 point shot of his from the corner with Solo on him was unbelievable. Either Bledsoe or Knight has to be traded to make room for him."

"If the Pacers wanted to be GS lite then Booker is the guy they needed. He will be as good as Klay Thompson. Put Booker with the current Pacer rookies and you have a contender in the near future."

http://www.pacersdigest.com/showthread.php?111132-IND-vs-Suns-*Post*-thread

2. Len had decent game. 6 points 12 boards in 21 minutes. If it werent for his 5 fouls he could have gotten alot more minutes. We just have to keep working on that guy.

3. Nice to see Chandler wake up. 3 points and 14 boards is a good showing. Maybe someone will notice and try to pick him up for their playoff run. I think Chandler would approve of such a move and if it gets us something in return, all the better.

4. A close competitive loss with young players showing well. That is the ticket for the rest of the season.

If rebuilding means putting together three star players for a title-contending "big three" it is really nice to know that we actually may have one of those now in Booker.

Thanks for posting it as I only found out about it this morning from a Paul Coro tweet.

Paul Coro ‏@paulcoro 11h11 hours ago

Hornacek on T.J. Warren's #SunsVsPacers benching: "We're looking for guys who are going to hustle. If you don't hustle, we'll take you out."

I can understand sitting a player that is not showing energy but Warren only played three minutes and he never saw the court again. That's a real quick trigger.

I'm still hoping to hear something from the league office about the Pacers hand off in the closing seconds. I want the league to say the referees were wrong (which is of no benefit now) but I still want to hear it.

I agree Booker had a great night last night, great shooter, great pick, etc

But its kinda funny that the incredible 3 from the corner late in the 4th quarter was by Knight, not Booker.
Booker's last corner 3 was made in the third quarter. http://espn.go.com/nba/shotchart?gameId=400828515

Pretty sure the one you are referring to was late in the 4th was the one Knight hit, which was pretty amazing because the defender was right on top of him practically. He hit it with .03 left in the game. http://espn.go.com/nba/shotchart?gameId=400828515

We don't have to trade anyone at this point to make room for Booker.

I did not make the reference, and Indiana fan did. I am just posting quotes for your reading pleasure. Did you read my post or just skim it?

Hornecek is nothing more than an assistant or shooting specialist type coach. He'd probably be more of a disaster in college where he'd have to not only coach but recruit and help fundraise from boosters. I can't imagine anyone taking him seriously when he goes into "hard ass" mode.

I see, your format was confusing, my bad, looks you have points from the Indiana Digest as well as your own points I guess (?), haven't seen it done that way before

I'm getting mixed messages about Warren. He only played 3 minutes last night apparently for a lack of energy. Now he has an injured knee and can't practice?

Maybe a trade is on the way soon. I wouldn't be shocked whatever the Suns do except they won't trade Booker.

Paul Coro ‏@paulcoro 2h2 hours ago

The Suns had nine available players for practice today. Morris (shoulder), Leuer (back), Teletovic (ankle) and Warren (knee) were held out.

maybe it was a lingering knee issue that kept him from hustling, so they rested him for practice.

Let's hope so. I'd really hate to think things have progressed so poorly with him that the bridges have been burned.

Yup. Looks like he was struggling some because of a physical issue. I have no problem resting a young player rather than pushing and ending up with a more severe injury.

LOL, it's like Palin endorsing Trump.
I was wondering how long it would take our resident (I mean non-resident) cheap shot artist to chime in.

Thanks for not letting me down.

I am still chuckling at the simplemindedness of your post.

And, no, I don't endorse Palin or Trump. Or any of the other candidates the Republicrats have put forward.

Now can we get back to sports? :D
