He is one of those guys who pitches well in the minors and is therefore given a chance in the majors, where things change quickly.
I have nothing against Bracho, but he was given that chance ... last season. In 26 games (24 2/3 innings) he had an ERA of 7.30 with 17 strikeouts and 10 walks. 41 hits and walks combined in less than 25 innings. That's an average of 1 2/3 batters he put on base for every inning he pitched.

And, as I mentioned in my post when I found out he was being brought up again, his 7.30 ERA does not reflect inherited runners who scored while he was pitching. True, he didn't put them on base, but it's still his job to keep from scoring. Just as with runners he put on base.

There is nothing surprising about his performance last night. As you said, he is one of those guys who pitches well in the minors. The Peter Principle has reared its ugly head. *

*In a hierarchy, every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence.

At least in baseball, they have a place to keep him (and with various levels), unlike in private industry.

We'll never know if the D-backs coaches, with their Major League expertise, saw anything different in him this year and, if so, what? And if not, well, look at the results.

Can we trade for Will Myers just to ensure he doesnt punish the D-Backs anylonger?

Awesome job by everyone through the 8th. It's now Bracho time... over/under 2 runs?

He was to close to the wall and rubbed against it. Even with that little jump he made, he could have caught it as the ball was just left of it his glove(his left, our right).

Nice win. Does this mean Bracho stays on the team?

He's already been sent down so Godley can be activated for his start tomorrow.

Good. I did a fast forward over the game it looked like he had a good 9th this time. This team just might be good if we get better middle pitching.

In the top of the 7th last night, Corbin gave up back to back singles with 1 out. Considering he just hit 100 pitches, I was expecting him to be pulled but Lovullo left him in there and he got the next two outs without issue. Probably a small thing but I think it's something that Corbin appreciated and will give him extra confidence going forward.

Look at this string of batting averages 1-through-7. The lowest are Goldy's .297 and Lamb's .299. Yes, I know, it doesn't look the same when we're on the road. But it is nice to see.

It is nice to them all together in tonight's game.
