Once Palmer is on board, the Cards may be able to get a late-round pick for QB Brian Hoyer, who signed his 2nd round tender

Wait, so Cardinals (from what we've heard) are trading a late pick for Palmer, cutting his salary from $13M to $8M (less than Kolb as going to make), and are also trying to trade Hoyer for a late round pick? The Cardinals have suddenly not only grown a brain, but figured out how to use it! Who'd have thunk it?!

I'll wait for a real and true confirmation. Plus I'll believe it when I see in in regards to actually acquiring a pick for Hoyer!

If #AzCards get Palmer, doesn't rule out drafting QB. But now, if they only really like 1 or 2 prospects, they can pass if not available.

Thats per Schefter who is trying to cover up for his tweet couple days ago that people would be VERY surprised if Carson went to Az.

Based on my USC contacts that old info for Adam. Carson didnt want to play for Wiz based on his relationship with Leinart and how he was "handled"

Thats water under the bridge now. Look at me scooping Adam Schfter.

It really is true! Rod Graves is no longer sleeping at Cardinals headquarters while Rome burns. :D

Im with Shane on lets wait until its done but this falls inline with the "offseason" plan and my contention that Keim is NOT just another Rod Graves which is complete craziness IMO. Even being involved at the level of this type of savvy moves shows me we are is not SOC thats for sure.

Now im excited to get a top OL or OLB and draft a Glennon or Matt Scott in the 2nd or 3rd.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, "early indications" are that John Skelton will be released once the Cardinals acquire Carson Palmer.
The Cardinals are going to have five QBs once they bring Palmer aboard, which even in the offseason doesn't make sense. Skelton fell out of favor with Ken Whisenhunt down the stretch last season, and posted a pitiful 55.4 QB rating over 201 passes. Skelton's lone calling card is his strong arm, so it would be a poor sign for his future if he's cut loose by Bruce Arians, who loves big-armed QBs.

#Cardinals have been shopping QB Brian Hoyer for weeks, I'm told. Steelers had been very interested, but signed Bruce Gradkowski #Staytuned

Damn......I liked Gradkowski.

Hoyer for a 5th would have been nice.

Board, let's be real. Getting a 7th round pick for Hoyer would be a coup and is also possible. Getting a 5th rounder is crazy talk IMO.

Palmer's yards per completion average in Oakland last two seasons was 12.7. The Cards were at 10. (Lindley was 8.4!) With 337 completions for the Cards that would be over 900 yards of extra offense about 60+ yards per game.

Question: How much difference would that make?
