Brandan Wright played a great game starting at center with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocks.

66% from the free throw line and 34% from the field... If New Orleans wasn't a MASH unit, we would've been destroyed... Better to be lucky though I guess.... eeeeeesh.

We're totally healthy compared to New Orleans.
No Davis. No Holiday. Asik, their starting center left in the 2nd quarter and didn't return. Evans twisted his ankle in the 2nd and was never the same the rest of the way.

The Pelicans have a much deeper, bigger and talented roster than the Suns. After the trade of Dragic and the injuries to Len and Knight the Suns are running on fumes. Don't ask me to feel sorry for the Pelicans.

Who feels sorry for the Pelicans? Just stating a fact - they are way worse off injury wise (at least tonight) than we were. And if they weren't so injured, we would've gotten the doors blown off us!

Was at the game tonight thanks to the kindness of some dear friends.

Wow. This Suns team is so offensively challenged. They can't run the break, they can't run a half court offense.

When Archie was in, he at least attempted to do so.

Bledsoe walks the ball to the top of the key, he is not very good at running the break, and he can't shoot very well. His defense is very good though.

I hope we find a way to keep Brandan Wright.

The Suns need a pg. Bledsoe should not be running the point.

This Suns team of late offensively reminds me of those final Gentry-Hunter days.

I like Warren too... But if I had to point out one area of weakness, it's his complete lack of a jump shot. Hoping he develops one over time...

I was wondering about this as they said TJ only takes a dribble to score. But what if they sag on him? I notice he doesn't force anything and passes right out. Scouting will pick on this sometime as he doesn't like jumpers, even short range ones.

Bledsoe had a great game on the boards but holy crap he missed 13 of the 15 shots he took.

Our starting PG with a whooping 2 assists and 3 turnovers in 37 minutes of play.

Come on man, your making $70 million you can't be the one to not give a ****.

Bledsoe looks like he is out of breath almost all the time. He has tire legs, and he doesn't run nearly as much as Nash or Goran did.

I was in attendance last night, a few observations:

Dear lord the spacing is bad. Whenever the ball got inside the key whoever our poor ball handler was would have 3 teammates and 4 defenders within like 8 feet of him. Just a mess. Only Tucker seemed conscious of trying to allow room for ball handlers... and not so coincidentally he was frequently rewarded with the best looks.

The crowd was much much more boisterous than I would have expected. They were pretty tame during the 1st quarter but after they got settled in there was a good amount of noise during the game and they got pretty damn loud in the 4th.

Wright is good. He makes smart plays defensively and gobbles up garbage plays on offense.

As bad as Bledsoe was on offense last night, and it was bad, he reeeally wanted to get his shot going and it was not happening, he was equally as good defensively. The guy is so disruptive on that end, over and over again the Pelicans would attempt to have an off ball movement only to have Bledsoe shut down the angle before it could develop.

The crowd loves Gerald Green. It really surprised me. He probably received a bigger cheer than anyone when he first came in off the bench. I suppose if you've been paying to attend games all year his act probably translates better than on TV because of the excitement he brings when he gets going.

Archie had a Jekyll and Hyde night. He came in and electrified the place in the 1st half... then in the second half he played as horrible as could be imagined. When he is on the ball he still only has the one move, "charge recklessly at the basket".

And the best part, for throwback Thursday THEY BROUGHT THIS BACK!!!

We won . I don't care how "ugly" the game was.
At this point, winning an ugly game (with both teams dealing with injuries) should hardly be the Suns top priority. Overall, NBA teams are certainly too good for ugly performances to lead to success.

Laying the foundation for the future is more important.

And, Phrazbit, thanks for the memory. An electrifying introduction.

I had similar observations:

1. The crowd was tame early, but really got into it, especially at the end--more so than the team deserved. This crowd does know bad basketball when they see it, and they saw it last night.

2. Bledsoe plays like his is worn out alot of times. There was a point in the 4th Qtr where the game was tied and the Suns came down and everyone just stood there. Bledsoe eventually just threw the ball away.

3. Agree about Bledsoe and his defense. He was very good there. His offense and handles were poor though.

4. I loved Wright. He was the difference in the game. The Suns should keep him. He is a professional, unselfish, dirtworker type. He blocked or altered alot of shots. They need to look for that ally-oop more often.

5. The Morri both shoot alot of contested turn around jumpers. They are fairly good at doing it, but it is a one-on-one move that kills offensive flow.

6. PJ has no business shooting a 3 anywhere but in the corner.

7. Green passed the ball a couple of times. I was amazed. He is still a black hole.

8. Warren showed signs again, but with the way the guards (Bledsoe) play on this team, no forward will ever really excel consistently. They are just left out of the offense.

9. I miss the fast break. Bledsoe does not run, and when he does, he pulls up and sets up the offense more often than he should.

As you can see, I was not impressed with Bledsoe on offense last night. This should have been a blowout.

I was there last night as well.

I'm pretty sure I ended up irritating my teenage son from all the times I looked at him and said: "WTF was THAT?" whenever an offensive possession ended up with a mind-boggling result, like when Brandan Wright had to throw up a desperation three.

I think Bledsoe likes to run when there is someone there to run with. He needs a wing player that is willing to press up court with him, we've seen him lead plenty of breaks but lately he is playing most of his minutes with the Morrii, who take their sweet time in everything they do and Wright, and while I was impressed with Wright's overall game, there were several plays where he absolutely walked back up court.

I don't know what to think of Markieff. They way the team is currently playing he is probably the most important offensive player, but I feel like they're stuck playing this way largely because of him and his brother. They don't move off the ball (unless they're looking to pass to eachother), they don't make cuts towards the hoop, they don't catch and shoot. Its great that Markieff has some legit interior moves and back to the basket talent but unless he has the ball in the post then he is doing absolutely nothing out there.

I am looking forward to the day when the Morrii are coming off the bench. If they are too expensive for that, they need to go. While both are decent players, they demand the ball like superstars, which they are not.
