he is just making sure he goes to the best spot and makes the best deal for himself and his family. what is wrong with that? one thing is for sure he isn't rubbing anyone wrong by this. I think everyone respects peyton manning. this type of free agency for a franchise qb is unlike anything we have ever seen.

Are you kidding me? Maybe not you...but believe me when I say this...He has pissed off many people and I bet many in the Cardinal Origination. This has BS written all over it. Secret meetings, under cover talks. I guarantee you the Cardinals are angry, especially how it was handled. He kept us HAND CUFFED till today at 4pm!!!!!! I know we would have signed some other players but we had to save money if he came here. I hope his last pass ends laying on our turf...my opinion...

that is strange, but man I have a feeling about the 49ers. I was leaning toward the titans the other day, but now i'm not so sure anymore. all along I thought they, baltimore, and houston(wildcard) would all strongly consider him. I was surprised at first when none of them did. because looking at their roster the QB position is what is keeping them from winning a SB. that one year for baltimore with dilfer was more of an exception to the rule.

I thought SF and BAL would make a run at is before all was said and done as well (I posted this somewhere on the official Cards msg board a few days ago). They both came so close last year and aren't married to the QBs contract wise. I thought Houston would try to get Mario back instead of chasing Peyton.

San Francisco is playing with fire. Alex Smith could start looking around and wind up somewhere else and if SF gets into a bidding war with DEN and TEN and loses they're down to Kaepernick rather quickly.

if the cardinals are angry they have other problems. they should have had a plan B all along because that's the way you run your business. to me it is ok for fans to be mad and emotional. that's understandable, but peyton is a good dude.

which may be why they tried to keep it a secret? I'm just guessing on that one.

So Peyton works out for the 49er's earlier this week and the media totally misses it? Wow.

So you're saying they are still about 10x better than any other media?

Which still rates as 'suck'?

I agree.

The media always misses things, it's not as if they are paid to provide news.

They're just paid to show commercials/newspaper ads, etc.

Which is somehow supposed to mean they aren't supposed to miss such big things.

Or ESPN held it secret. They've been talking about another team since the beginning, and even mentioned the 49ers before. But then stopped. So they should have been keeping tabs on the 49ers before. So yeah, they suck. It's probably not a conspiracy, they just suck at their jobs.

Afterall, they are 'experts'.

No he isn't - apparent ground rules going in were (a) three teams, (b) no contract talks, (c) no workouts, (d) no physicals.

Then as things developed, Tennesse drops in, surprise physicals and workouts are scheduled, Denver and Tennessee invited to work out (& not the Cardinals) and then the Niners drop out of the sky.

Doesn't sound like a level, transparent process to me.

The Mannings were apparently "playing it by ear." Sounds a bit sleazy to me.

As to "how you run your business", never forget that - without fans you don't have a business.

who the hell set these ground rules? Manning never said a word. Just because you bought what the pundits were selling doesn't mean Manning did anything wrong.

that being said, I hope Dockett knocks him out of the league Aeneas Williams style.

This is insane. Peyton Manning hasn't done anything wrong.

I can't believe people are angry at him for anything and/or want to see him get injured.

Don't want him injured. But if he is a Niner, I hope DD and CC put the hurt on him, just like any other Whiner QB.

I can't either, but to each their own...

I am a cowboys fan, longhorns, fan etc. I have no reason to like peyton. But I can't think of a better dude on and off the field. pure class act, great role model for kids to look up to, incredibly gifted and intelligent. and a good personality. I hope he comes back and plays at a high level because guys like him make the NFL what it has become today. and the fact that fans are so upset just goes to show how much they want him.

I will just say I don't agree with you. those teams were well within their right to pursue him. and if a new team like baltimore jumps in now I don't blame them either. for peyton, the more teams that chase him, the better. this is rare that you have a guy like him being a free agent. just like whiz said in his statement. all of those teams are doing the same thing that the cards were...being opportunistic to make their team better. and peyton is being opportunistic to make his career and life better for his family. I can't be mad at him for breaking the "ground rules"

aside from that, the cardinals clearly had a backup plan like whiz said in his statement. and I never said without fans you don't have a business. fans are part of the business. without rich owners and executives... fans don't have a product either...don't forget that....just ask houston. and as a mavs fan in NBA, i can say there wern't very many mavs fans before mark cuban.

I just hate the fact that SF swooped in so secretly. They came out and said they didn't want him only to do this. I think we were manning's first choice between den and ten but definitely not infront of SF. So if he does indeed go to SF which I think he will...we would have had him had freaking alex smith just signed his ****ing contract.

Injure them all including harbaugh!
