Centers: Alex Len, Tyson Chandler, Alan Williams(TO)
Power Forwards: Dragan Bender, Marquese Chriss, Jon Leuer(FA), Teletovic(FA)
Small Forwards: TJ Warren, PJ Tucker, Chase Buddinger(FA)
Shooting Guards : Devin Booker, Brandon Knight, Archie Goodwin, John Jenkins(TO)
Point Guards : Eric Bledsoe , Ronnie Price(FA), Tyler Ulis

Teletovic will get overpaid.

Williams will probably be on the Dleague roster I assume

Jenkins could stick if Knight is traded without guards coming back.

Leuer could stick as third string center.

Buddinger looked done.

Price should be re-signed.

Knight could be on the block if he does not accept his role playing high minutes off the bench at the 1/2.
Or the Suns could decide to start Bledsoe, Knight and Booker.

Chicago (Taj Gibson to hold down our starting PF position for a year plus assets?) and Philly badly need a starting PG.

I could see us still making a move for Noel or Okafoer for Night. Also Horford is an option in free agency

Knight for Noel would be ideal, particularly if Chandler feels the team's direction doesn't fit him.

Don't think he'll leave. They just stocked up with Oladipo and Sabonis for a Championship push.

Oh, I don't think he will either; and if he does, it won't be for Phoenix. But if you look at the current Suns roster, he's a better fit than he would be at a lot of other places.

It's the perfect time to bring in Durant, really.

Its actually true. I also think that Jimmy Butler would be a nice fit right now.

Knight, PJ and a future #1?

Bledsoe, Ulis
Booker, Archie, FA
Butler, TJ, PJ
Bender, Chriss, Tele
Len, Chandler

Since we are dreaming...it would be nice if we could get Durant....wait someone is at the door.......:mulli:.

Reality just paid me a visit. Yeah...unfortunately, I don' think he is going anywhere and even if he did...he wouldn't come here. However, how awesome would that be? It would change our time table considerably.

At any rate, we have some pieces we could package and move to get another solid piece. I hope the Suns are not done.

I doubt that Butler is really available, and if he is, the price will be a heck of a lot higher than that. I suppose the Suns could go after DeRozan (who is a free agent) if they wanted Butler-lite.

All the reports had the talks almost done. So, it sounds like he at least was available. Maybe they got cold feet about dealing him or think his value is worth much more. You could be right the price will be high to get him.

We just made the biggest moves comitted to true rebuilding this team has done in the last decades.

Big Name acquisitions are not going to happen.

Get good intangible veterans like Jared Dudley and Dwight Powell maybe or Mirza/Leuer and let the young guys play.

How about David West? I thought I read that he was opting out of San Antonio.

Thats 17 players and we need to get down to 15 - 14 to have room to add someone. I like Tele and I enjoy watching him play but his age (30) is against him for the long term so I hope we let someone else pay him.
I agree with slin about Budinger but I'd be inclined to let Ronnie Price walk so as to open up time for Ulis. If we could trade Knight without getting another guard back then maybe resign him.

The other question marks are Goodwin, John Jenkins and Jon Leuer. I don't dislike any of them but I am near giving up on Archie. His 3pt shot is improving a bit but it infuriates me that he has not done anything to develop a short or midrange shot to use when there's a committee waiting at the rim for him - could be a coaching problem as much as anything, but he has to take the fall. He's useless at the point, too.
With Bender and Chriss added in the frontcourt plus Alan Williams, Leuer is expendable.
Jenkins failed to impress but I do like his toughness.

Alan Williams could use some time in the D League but whatever they do I hope they work hard at developing him - he is such a promising rebounder at both ends of the floor and looked good as a defender as well. With someone like him at C we could afford to have a SF who doesn't rebound well - like TJ Warren or Booker, perhaps, or even Goodwin. For years we've needed PJ to rebound and he did because our PF's were minimal rebounders.

I agree with the notion that we should get a couple of good intangible type vets to be around and then send those youngins out there for some good PT. There's always the chance someone gets desperate enough to trade for Chandler during the year so the Suns could get another decent asset for him. And we still have the Bledsoe/Knight conundrum to work through as well.

Marvin Williams could be an interesting fit.

Except that he just so happened to have a career season in a contract year at age 29. Not a good sign. If the Suns could be guaranteed of getting last year's Marvin Williams, I'd agree.

this is scary. I think I've posted three times on this section in the last month and twice I've agreed with Slin.

Let the damn young guys play and develop! Horford?! Durant?! Are you guys drinking drano?

Budinger is obviously gone. I don't think that keeping Williams is likely.

Either Teletovic or Leuer might be re-signed but it probably will be a bidding war for both especially for a former which I don't want to Suns to participate in.

I agree that Price will be re-signed and Dudley is a logical target, we need a SF and he can be used as a stretch 4 as well.

I think that 24 mil./3 year is the floor for Dudley, I'm not totally convinced that the Suns should go (much) higher for his services despite Dudley's leadership.

Suns' overambitiousness will lead to chasing Horford but I think that there is a very limited chance that he will sign to Phoenix.

OK, I've read this entire discussion several times and I still don't see the "threat."

Absolutely, of course there's no way to know what's going on behind the scenes. If one of the vets becomes a problem or can't accept a role (Knight) then making a change sooner rather than later might be the best option.

Having a bunch of good players and no great ones can be a problem. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Maybe Booker can come in and firmly outperform Knight in camp and clearly define the pecking order.

Thinking about it, would it make sense to groom Chriss into a SF? He has excellent size for a SF, he has a better jump shot than post game right now and it would allow Bender develop into our starting PF. Warren could provide offense off the bench. Plus, it may help him stay out of foul trouble if he isn't defending bigger, stonger players in the post. Despite posters calling for the kids to play (I'm sure they will), I think PHX brings in a veteran to play 25-30 mpg because no fan wants to endure another 23 win season and Sarver especially won't because he will lose $$$ with declining ticket sales.

Another reason I like Marvin Williams as our interim starting power forward is this quote from Jeremy Lin:

"We call him Marv. He will be tied with Jared Jeffries for the best teammate I have ever had. He's the most genuinely nice and polite person ever, seriously. He says "sir" a lot when talking to us, he always asks us about our families and takes care of everyone. He gives his per diem (which adds up to a lot of money) to Twin [Aaron Harrison] just out of generosity. In my opinion, Marv is the voice of our team and our glue guy. He also anchors our D."

(Also, please keep the Jared Jeffries jokes to a minimum! haha)
