First game for me seeing the team in live action. All I can say is WTF happened to my Cards?? Just can't believe how different this team looks, feels and plays... WOW!

- One thing that seems to remain consistent is our continued inability to control the line on either side of the ball. Offensively, we simply SUCK. Can barely run block and can't pass protect on a Div. III level. DA continues to get harrassed and pounded on virtually every passing play! While DD showed up today - he had a pretty nice game today - we simply can't get any pressure at all with our front 3/4. The only way for us to get to the QB is via the blitz. Which is scary. Gradkowsi exploited it pretty well today, and better QB's in the league will make us pay...

- DA... like I said, today was the first time seeing him in live action. And I just can't get over how spoiled we all got with Kurt. Kurt would've iced this game early on for sure. No doubt about it. However, in DA's defense, it is also very clear to me that both Fitz and Stevie are not 100%. Only Kurt would find a way to somehow work with these two while they are not 100%, while also finding ways to connect with two UDFA's in Wiliams and Komar. Add our woefully pathetic o-line, and I just don't think it's completely fair to place all of the passing game miscues on DA. Yes, he is accuracy is pretty poor. But rarely does he have the luxury to sit back in the pocket and comfortably set and throw - unlike Gradkowski today who had all day in the pocket unless we blitzed. In short, I'm still holding full judgement on DA. Just too many other factors at play here.

- Beanie is still a beast, even when he's not ever close to 100%. He was actually limping throughout the game but somehow mustered the strength and energy to put up so great runs. Dude ALWAYS falls forward too. Doesn't matter who's in front of him, he pushing forward. Love that! Can't wait for him to get fully healthy!!

- Paris Lenon is much better than advertised. Guy is a player, period. He was all over the field today. IMO, he had the best day of any other defensive player. In fact, he might have had the best day of any player on the entire team.

- Ben Patrick.... WHY o WHY don't we throw to him more??? WHY doesn't Whiz call more plays for him??? He can be a legit pass-catching force. If only we would use him more... Uggghhhh!!! :bang:

- Levi Brown is bordering on full-blown BUST! He is putrid in every sense of the word... And, while I would have loved for the story to pan out, the Brandon Keith experiment is failing... Can't believe he gave up on a nice run by Timmy, only to actually help take Timmy down because he was loafing. Totally inexcusable.

- DRC remains one of my least favorite players. He remains a complete PUNK. He can be all-world, and maybe one day he wiil... but that will only happen if he completely changes his mindset. Totally! Just can't stand the guy...

- Rhodes is definitely an upgrade over Rolle. I really like the way Kerry plays! He's so damn athletic... I like this pick up - a lot!

- Lastly, what can ya say about the LSH!!! Just awesome!!

Oh - forgot to mention that I really likes the new Red outfits our ladies were sporting today!!! Here's a shot I found on AZ Central... Nice!!

I will take the win and the look on the faces of the Raiders fans as the celebrated before watching for the gesture of "no good" by the refs.

As for the rest all I will say is that we have a lot and I mean a LOT to get fixed on O, D, and punt return. We have the worst punt return unit and the most inaccurate QB in the NFL (and I don't care if he is getting harassed even when he does have plenty of time he will still only hit his guy 50% of the time.)

No doubt. it would've been torture to watch those a-holes celebrate and taunt us.

How about Cable & a few of the Raiduh players running on the field as they thought he kicked the game winner...priceless

What are you basing this on?

I am a little angry that we won because we did not deserve it. It looked like ARZ was actually trying to lose this game, all the mistakes, penalties and bonehead plays were just sickening. Janikowski bailed out DRC and others with that botched FG. Our CB's are terrible, they made a couple of good plays but those were negated by the pass interference calls they racked up today that nearly cost us the game. Our OL cannot block to save their lives, Grimm should be all up in Keith's rear for that terrible lack of effort on the Hightower run. Anderson really needs to be coached in passing mechanics as the guy cannot hit the side of a barn, constantly under and over throwing guys.

On the positive side, I give props to Lenon and Rhodes. Those two along with Dockett really brought it today. Beanie, Hightower & LSH all had nice games. Breaston and Fitz are trying but need a QB that can get them the ball on a consistent basis.

To do list this offseason:

Find a starting NFL QB
Find starting OT's
Bring in YOUNG pass rushers

I can understand where your coming from but had we played well all game and made a late heartbreaking mistake or got screwed by a ref and win like today then fine. I hate the fact that DRC and Co get bailed out, hopefully the coaching staff is making them run gassers right now.

Am I the only one who thought the o-line played well? I remember quite a few plays that Anderson had all day to throw and just made a bad toss. They also blocked well in the run game, only a couple negative plays.

I thought they were much improved today.

Hell yeah! I've seen dozens of games we lost when we had played better than the opponent for the most part. We, as fans, deserve MORE of these! The we deserve about six "lucky" wins for the MNF Bears game alone.

I heard a lot of griping on the radio about how the win was "really a loss". I don't get it. All i can think of is that these are people who didn't suffer through the SDS years.

No you are not the only one Chris.

The problem is DA. We are going to be facing pressure all year. Defenses are going to load the box and DARE us to throw the ball.
As we all remember all too well, over the last 2 years Warner and the offense would INVITE defenses to blitz. When they did blitz Warner made them pay dearly because he was so accurate and knew the hot read. The offensive line didn't have to block for 4 or 5 seconds. They merely had to get a piece of their guy.
THAT'S the difference. I am AMAZED at the success we've had running the ball with such a dismal passing attack.

DA hasn't had, doesn't have, and never will have the ability to make a defense pay. He simply is not accurate enough and his lack of touch makes even the "easy" catch much more difficult.

How ironic is that? With Warner we were amazed at the lack of success running the ball with such an outstanding passing attack.

A sure sign that things have been turning our way:

Blocked punt recovered for a TD in OT to beat Dallas.

Fumble returned for a TD in OT to beat Green Bay.

And now this missed FG.
