I know that Penn State has a great reputation for coming through in big games.
Put that on Franklin, not on Allar. Also, I think Franklin tends to hurt QBs' development, especially as pertains to the NFL. The hope would be you could develop Allar before it's too late, or he could become another Hackenberg (sp?).

This would be my rebuttal if what I said didn’t make sense, too.
It makes perfect sense you just refuse to acknowledge it and want to play dumb. When I said I wanted a QB that can win a Superbowl you told me "lofty goals".

So now you say you want a taam that can win a Superbowl and I say "lofty goals". It's not hard to understand if you wanted to. But I was saying about your boy K1. So....

It doesn’t make sense & even you know it doesn’t make sense. C’mon now.

You’re incorrect just off the fact I know I have never posted “lofty goals” in all my years posting here.

I said I want a team that can -contend- for a Super Bowl. Building through the trenches. I would think that’s common sense on how to be a successful football team to everybody. I guess it’s not after conversing with you.

You didn’t even understand what the point you were trying to make. You probably still don’t, honestly.

I don't want another year where 7-9 wins is the ceiling and OMG maybe, if the planets align and everything is perfect, we sneak into the playoffs to get crushed in the wild card round. I want at least the chance at doing better, or starting to do better. Anything else is just another wasted year for me.
There is a huge world between 4 wins and winning multiple playoff games. I don't mind being Pittsburgh in 2025, and keeping my QB options open after that season.

I don't normally like to do this but what QB option do you think comes available this off-season that is better than Kyler who is somewhere between the 12th and 16th best QB in the NFL?

Money is no object? Sam Darnold, Russ.

Cost-adjusted? I-think-maybe-Justin Fields-don't-hate, Andy Dalton, Jameis. I feel like there are a lot of QBs who can do what Kyler's done this season with the handcuffs that have either been placed on him or he's placed upon himself. A lot of QBs can hand the ball off over and over and throw short of the sticks on third down.

Here is your exact quote. If you want to play the semantics card.

Quite a standard you got here.

But just keep throwing out your childish insults. It's what you do. Now who doesn't understand what they said?

With that I. Bowing out of this silly conversation.

They'll get to the playoffs if they mature. Kyler has to maintain and keep his leadership rock like. Pass attempts need to be 20-30, the running backs and oline need to get back to their running game. Teams are figuring out the D but don't turn the football over and make it easy. Just be aggressive defense and play with attitude.

I kinda disagree tho. None of those QBs are going to be a long term option. Your accelerated cap hit to cut Kyler is 58 mil. The cost of a new QB would be something like 5-30 mil? (Fields 5 and Darnold 30) Yes we have the money, but you are essentially paying 62-70(ish) mil for the same production vs Kyler's 43 mil cap hit. The only way that makes sense is if Kyler is a locker room problem which I don't see him being.

I have no problem with paying 5 mil for Winston or Dalton as a vet backup if that's the direction they want to go, but it makes no sense to do so and also cut Kyler.

Dude, you asked who out there would be as good as Kyler and I answered. I'm sure you asked that in good faith, but this response is boring and moves the goalposts.

The reason you move on is because $36.8 million of Kyler's 2026 salary gets guaranteed in March 2025.

Bingo. Bite the bullet now when you have cap space to do it and so we’re rid of the problem in 2026.

It wasn't my intention to move the goalposts. Fair callout.
