D'Antoni believes that how guys get in game shape. He's never been a guy to hold guys out because of a risk of injury. Hope it doesn't bite him in the rear.

Guys are just as likely to get hurt in a tough practice as in a preseason game. He figures the guys know the system pretty well by now, and he'd rather have them play 30-35 minutes in a game and do a short, light practice, than do a strenuous 3 hour practice and play his guys 15 minutes in the game.

The returning regulars can obviously get rest, but he clearly wants to get Diaw and Hill up to speed. Plus, the opportunities will get more sparse and the focus will change once Amare gets some playing time next weekend.

"The Fakers"........what the hell does that even mean? Did we fake our way to 8 championships because I'm pretty sure those are all real?

If anything the Suns are the Fakers......with all that talent they've yet to even reach the Finals.

another ignorant lakers fan. the suns HAVE reached the finals, you might want to double-check that statement.

Not with the current squad you have out there. I know you guys made it back in the 90's.
You can't have it both ways. If you're going to qualify your statements to "current squad", then your 8 championships are moot. The Lakers' current squad has amassed nothing.

My point was the name "Fakers" makes absolutely no sense when applied to the Laker organization. It makes far more sense to call your organization the "Fakers" because with all the talent you have you have yet to win an NBA championship. Your entire starting lineup is pretty much All-Star talent and it hasn't even gotten you out of the WCF.

The Suns right now have a lineup of Banks, Strawberry, Barbosa, Tucker and Marks and they are giving the Bobcats starters fits. For some reason the Bobcats still have Hermann, Okafor, Wallace, Richardson and Felton still in.

Tucker had his best quarter of the preseason. He scored 14 points all in the 4th and topped it off with an alley-oop slam from Barbosa to end the game. It sounded like it was pretty nice on the radio. He made a 3 pointer, drove to the hoop for a few scores, got to the line and made a midrange shot.

Marcus Banks had his worst shooting night of the preseason (1/8), and three turnovers.

yeah the lineup hasnt made it out of the wcf because it was missing its most talented player in the year that it made it that far. back in the shaq and kobe days, how would the lakers have faired without kobe? without shaq?

what is your point? are you really debating how good our 05 team would be against their 01 team? perhaps that's something for another thread.

i'll never understand why folks engage newbie fans of other teams. why not simply say 'you're right, your team obviously rules' and move on. the person will prove themselves to be intelligent or not in due time, at which point they can be banned regardless :)

Keep hiding behind your 8 titles - your team is garbage and won't win another title anytime soon.

Keep in mind, he had 0 blocks/rebounds/steals/assists along with those 14 points.

Amare needs some more match practice, he really struggled in the 1st quarter. Better in the 2nd but his defence is still suspect.

We had similar problems on offence without Nash as usual, not a good sign, though Barbs not playing can be an excuse.

i like what i'm seeing from Amare in his first action of the season. Barbs makes a huge difference spreading the floor for this team. It's weird to think, but without him, we only have two three point shooters. Marks also did not look like Pat Burke out there - he actually looked like he could contribute against some teams.
